How are you handling pitcher stamina progression issue?

So it's a known issue that stamina for pitchers can regress but cannot progress for some reason.

Either this is a bug, or they've just decided that players shouldn't gain stamina points as they progress.

I'm wondering how folks are handling this in their franchises.

Since we can edit (I've got a 30 team control franchise for maximum flexibility), I'm wondering if anyone has a system for progressing pitcher stamina incrementally, especially for young pitchers or pitchers in the minors who start out with stamina in the high 60s or low 70s.

I've considered just accepting the way it is and justifying the state of the game by saying that not everyone is capable of being a top of the rotation starter, regardless of how good their stuff might be, and by saying that not everyone is built to log 150+ innings.

I've also considered a once a year touch-up during pre-season across the league if I can get a reasonable system in place.

Thoughts? I'm looking for constructive ideas here, not game-bashing posts.

As of now, I'm just accepting it and trying to draft for high-ish stamina, or guys in the 60's, eventually they'll go the starter turned reliever, career path.

However, maybe after spring training, randomly add 0-10 points to each guy's stamina?

I might start doing that for velocity up (for younger pitchers), velocity down (for guys over 30), and movement (+/- some either way, not sure how much).

I'm just playing it out as its designed. I draft high stamina guys (70+) and anyone below becomes a bullpen pitcher/spot starter. For the guys on my team that are below 70, they are mainly minor league pitchers who will most likely never see the majors.

Yeah, I'm considering doing this. There are guys in the draft who come in with mid-80s stamina, so maybe the game intends to differentiate between real workhorses and the rest of the pack.

I think that with a pitcher with 70 stamina, you can get a QS on proper rest if you pitch efficiently. I actually think the high 60s is the cutoff point for who you can use to get through 5 + innings if you don't walk lots of guys.

Even so, it would be nice if it were possible for some growth. I have Urias on my team and I think he comes in w/ 70 stamina in OSFM 3.0, which means he'll never be a workhorse.

Have they acknowledged that this progression issue exists and stated that, like the playoff stamina, this is their intention? If so, I'd feel better. If not, I'd be inclined to think that we should be some progression here if not for some mistake.

Would raising the starter stamina slider be enough or would sim stats still be out of line? I like the idea of 200+IP or 120 pitch guys standing out, so having them be rarer wouldn't bother me as much. One more thing to help the stars stand out.

It is by design that pitchers do not progress in stamina.

Oh, wow, okay. I didn't know that.

Do you have a link back to a developer statement to this effect?

If that's what they intended, I can embrace it.

Sorry I don't have a link, but it was stated when they were doing blogs and twitch streams that stamina wouldn't progress this year, as well as speed. Speed doesn't progress either.
