    Jersey Number Change Issue

So I am in the year 2024 with the Detroit Tigers. Miguel Cabrera (#24) has been tearing it up. When I played a game at the start of the season he was number 24.

When I played a few games before the all-star break, he changed his number to 25. I thought it was weird, so I went to change it back to 24, but his actually player profile still has him listed as number 24.

He is now number 31 the next game

I am now playing in mid-August, and he is now number 28.

He is the only player I have notice to have this issue. I have made no trades, or transactions, and no other player on me team has any of those jersey numbers.

He's still playing?! Usually a promotion or trade could change numbers.. Usually the ones with higher overalls keep their numbers so I dunno.

Seems like for me it bumps players that have been on the 25 man for new additions. I dont recall that ever happening in previous versions but I have definitely noticed that this year. New additions to the roster should not bump existing players.

They need a jersey number screen like the NHL series has, a nice clean number list from 0-99 and when you hover over it is shows which player has that current number. Not a huge issue but it is slightly annoying when you see players with different numbers.

My RTTS player's number is constantly changing, it's a guessing game what number i'll be wearing each game.

I can't believe Miguel Cabrera is still playing in year 2024. He would be what 41 years of age by then? Most players don't last to that age in this game no matter what roster or tricks that you use. Which roster base are you using buddy? Thanks!

Look over your entire 40-man roster (not just the active roster) and you'll find another player wearing Miggy's 24. Once you change that player's #, Miggy will get his 24 back. The game logic must see the other player as more important/higher rated. It wouldn't change the jersey number if nobody else was wearing it.

EDIT: I didn't realize this thread was a month old and resurrected, but this will work for anyone having the same problem.
