    Inaccurate Pitch Counts

When using quick counts, I'm finding that the pitcher's pitch counts are not accurate. Say for example, the pitcher has 10 pitches when a batter comes up, quick counts gives him a 1-1 count. On the next pitch the batter hits a single, which should bump the pitch count up by one. However, when the next batter comes up, quick counts gives him a 1-1 count, but the pitcher only has 12 pitches, instead of 13 (1-1 count, plus the base hit).

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    Re: Inaccurate Pitch Counts

It's normal, and has been like that since quick counts has been a feature. They're fudged a bit in order to get a realistic pitch count for the entire game (for stamina/fatigue purposes since first pitch, 0-1, and 1-0 balls in play don't exist in QC).

The only time this really looks weird is in a post-game POTG screen when the pitcher throws a complete game - it'll show him typically having thrown at least 150 pitches even if the in-game display said around 100 or so. You can basically ignore that count as it's more or less a visual bug.

Bottom line is that, for the purposes of normal pitcher management, use the pitch count on the score display. It's what the AI uses when making its pitching changes.
