    1B not hustling

I've had this happen three times now, when fielding a grounder with my 1B, I use the analog stick to run to first for the force out, but he pulls up 5ft short and does a stupid foot shuffle and slowly takes the last 3 steps to first, allowing the baserunner to beat out the play.
    Anyone else seen this?

When it happened tonight, I initially tried to throw to 1B but the pitcher of course wasn't running so it triggered the 1B run to the base. When that happened I switched to the analog stick and he apparently did not appreciate that.

I use auto fielding and this probably won't help your problem but out of interest last night my first baseman used a slide to beat out the runner. First time I have seen that animation.

I had a grounder to first baseman last night...use auto fielding...pressed the button immediately after the ball was hit. First baseman fielded it cleanly, but took his time going to first (was only about 5 feet away)..***nner beat it out for an IF single! Crazy!!

I use autofielding as well. Twice during my franchise, my first baseman has fielded a grounder and instead of running to 1b for the out, he runs towards the dugout and it's ruled an error. Very frustrated because I think I gave up a run later on in the inning in both instances.

Happens to me all the time - When it happens, I honestly switch teams and user-control the CPU team and purposely get picked off at first.

In my opinion stuff like this is just stupid, and if it will effect the outcome of a close game, it's worth doing the above. To me, I want to enjoy playing the game and me having to get an extra out because the game is buggy isn't enjoyable.

Oh it's amazing I do use 30-team control in Franchise mode so I'm not sure if you need to have that set up in order to switch teams mid-game, but I don't believe so.

Not the same thing, but I have noticed that whenever my pitcher gets hit with a batted ball, whether line drive or grounder, and it bounces right to the 3B/SS/2B, they will field the ball and then not do anything with it until after the runner is past first. I can't count how many times my pitcher has taken a line drive off himself, it bounced right to the 3B with more than enough time to throw to first for the out, and instead the 3B just holds it and then literally lobs the ball over to 1B, allowing the runner to be safe.

"Lazy" or "Casual" animations really need to respond to the situation much better than they do currently (or removed, especially the most "casual" animations that are really slow executing). This is a great example.

Batter is busting it down the line, but the 1B doesn't care and is going to do that animation.

It's one thing if you have Yadier Molina and his 9 speed "sprinting" down the line. But another with anyone with actual major league level speed hauling it.

This happens a lot to me too. They will start running to the base then shuffle their feet once they get close and put their foot on the base as slow as humanly possible like they got a cramp or something. Too many safe runners on routine ground balls. Same with a ground ball to another infielder where they have to do a dance before they throw the freaking ball.

I lost a perfect game in the 8th inning becaus of this a few weeks ago. I have never been so angry at a video game.

They need to fix these core gameplay issues before they add any more fluff. Im concerned about where this game is heading to be honest.

You actually don't have to use the analog stick to get the first baseman to run to cover first. If you just hold circle the first basemen runs to the bag automatically. That is the shortcut I use to field.
