but it keeps telling me there is no data. From my PS3 game, I went into franchise and then options and upload to cloud. I uploaded it and then went to my PS4 game and franchise and continue from MLB 15 and it says no saved data. I then go to load from cloud and it says there is no franchise mode save data on the cloud server. What am I doing wrong?

You would need MLB 15 on your PS4 to get the save from the cloud. Once you then save it, you could continue it in MLB 16.

I could have swore I read multiple times that PS3 and Vita saves work on PS4. So I have to start my franchise all over again? What is the reasoning behind this? I spent many hours on the PS3 version of MLB 15 The Show and it sucks knowing it will all go to waste. The only way to get my 15 franchise is to buy 16 for PS3 or can I buy 15 for PS4 and then upload from 15 save from my PS3 and then it will appear in MLB 16?Comment

I could be completely wrong, but I think either way would work.
15 PS3>15 PS4>16 PS4 or
15 PS3>16 PS3>16 PS4.
I think I remember some guys helping out last year by taking other people's save files from one generation to the other buy going through one of these ways.Comment

You can transfer from a PS3 OR last year's game. You can't do both at the same time.
And don't feel bad, I made literally the same mistake when I upgraded from PS3 to PS4 last year.
What I did is bought a used copy of the PS4 version of last year's game, did the transfer, then returned the game to the store the very next day.
So in your case you're buying a PS4 version of MLB '15. You go from PS3 to PS4 via the cloud, then save from your PS4-15. Then you go from 15 to 16 via the Y2Y feature.Comment

Okay so let me get this straight. I drive to a gamestop that has a used MLB 15 The Show for PS4. I buy it and drive home. I then wait for 15 to install on my PS4. I go to franchise and select upload from cloud and then I will see my PS3 15 save and I load it. I then click on continue from MLB 14 which is really 15 or it just uploads the cloud save and I then go into franchise and it will be my franchise from PS3 15 and I then upload that to the cloud. I take out 15 and put it 16 and then I got to franchise and upload from cloud and then I will see the 15 file and I click on it and I can then play my franchise. I then delete all the 15 data that was installed and drive back to gamestop and get my money back and drive back home.
Does this about sum up what I need to do in order to continue my franchise?Comment

More or less, but the bolded part is wrong. There's two separate features here, cloud saves, and year-to-year saves. Before you do anything, you have to upload your current save file to the cloud. When you get your '15 for PS4 from Gamestop, you are simply loading from the cloud, the same way you can already do on PS3 or Vita.
Then once you have your save file on PS4, you save it again (either to the cloud, or to your harddrive, it doesn't matter).
Then once you've saved a file in PS4 format, you can import it into MLB '16 using the Y2Y feature.Comment

That sounds like an episode from a sitcom to me. It's an awful lot of driving and time and game switching and installing and deleting just to get my franchise. Hmmmmm. I will have to think about this.Comment
