Re: SCEA Bans Many Players for Using Exploits in MLB The Show 16
The cardinal youtuber mentioned the thing that got my attention and has me thinking.
I've never used their website or another device. I did everything market related on the console.
What I would do sometimes is, I'd put up 20 Atlanta players at a time, then I'd go and surf the internet after pushing the PS button, and let the game run in the background. I'd come back after 20 minutes and if nothing sold I'd take them all down and put up another team. Repeat. Is that the behavior that got flagged? I was making stubs while doing other things.
I kept videos at the end of April that show my 3 weeks long hot streak. I also kept a list of diamonds I pulled since day one.
I put 100 or 200 dollars (The visual evidence from the videos was that it may have been only 100) on my account and bought stubs in late April.
Date, Player, Stubs in the right top corner
4/27: Bryce Harper. Stubs:324.
4/27: Manny Machado. Stubs:Forgot to write it down. Had 4 20s waiting to be opened. I must have sold the Harper for 100k.
4/29: Bryce Harper. Stubs:477.
4/30: Diamond Bat + David Robertson. Stubs:78,771. Must have sold that Harper and decided to open packs 1 bundle at a time.
4/30 Diamond Equipment (Black Nike Cylinder, I can't even get into the game and check) Stubs: 139. I have 3 20s waiting. Obviously I bought 4 20s.
4/30 McCutchen. Stubs:5,398. I pulled another McCutchen around the same time but didn't keep the video. I sold them the same day a few weeks later.
5/1 Votto. Stubs: 306
5/5 Bryce Harper 99 Stubs: 11,903
5/5 or 5/9 I can't read my writing. Kenley Jansen. Stubs:1,585
5/11 89 Tulo. Stubs:14,723. 4 20s waiting to be opened. I must have sold the 5/5 Harper.
5/11 Paul Goldschmidt. Stubs: 81
5/11 Diamond Shoes. Stubs:2,987 1 20 left.
5/12 91 Andrew Miller. Stubs:3,038
5/12 Max Scherzer. Stubs:590
5/12 Gold Fowler, Lorenzo Cain. Stubs:48
5/12 Giancarlo Stanton. Stubs:1,601
5/13 Tulo 89 Stubs:128
5/18 Chris Sale. Stubs:2,145
5/19 Buster Posey. Stubs:1,132
5/20 Diamond Key. Stubs:154
5/21 Diamond Bat. Stubs:484
5/25 91 Matt Harvey. Stubs:15.
A $100 investment gave me all that. That's at least 600,000 stubs worth of cards. 1 full month of enjoyable mindless pack openings. I may be the first player ever banned because of pack luck.
Since that run ended at the end of May I haven't gotten much of
anything. I put another 100 on my account and sold most of those cards. I got nothing. The house took it all back. My sellable diamonds left are a Bryce Harper and Buster Posey.
Every good card I got came from pack openings. $600 in 4 months isn't going to make me poor or them rich. I never cheated anybody and didn't deserve getting banned.Comment

I'm confused as to why what I said was funny.
100% of the bans from those that exploited this 30+ times are justified yes. No where did I say that everyone that got banned deserved it because that's impossible for me to justify.
But those that did it 30+ times was no accident.Comment

Re: SCEA Bans Many Players for Using Exploits in MLB The Show 16
I can kind of understand lumping everyone together because that can be so easy to do, but at the same time that mindset is still mind-boggling.
I didn't get caught doing anything because I never once knowingly did anything. I know that means absolutely nothing, but anyone who knows me can vouch for my character and integrity. Seeing so many people blindly make blanket statements about everyone caught is difficult.
As a long time roster creator (going back to the early Triple Play days, the somewhat early Madden days and the early NCAA Football days), even though I no longer post like I used to, why would I be coming here to draw attention to myself? I know there are a lot of answers to that though.
Seeing some people who I thought I was cool with and who I thought respected me lump everyone together and to accuse them of knowingly cheating is a little hurtful. If that sounds weird to some them that is what that is. I try not be be prideful, but I do take my character/integrity (even honor) seriously. I don't even really see anyone here anymore that I actually know pretty well or even really well, but that's besides the point though.
The fact that I have been banned is actually kind of a good thing for me because I was spending way too much time trying to build my team by buying and selling.
If I accidentally did whatever that's showing I did then I don't see how the amounts were anything that I should have noticed except for in the case of one time where I was thinking I had like 45,000 stubs and then logged on and saw that I had like 70 or 75,000 stubs. I didn't think anything of that because I hadn't been online in a while (from what I can remember) and I just thought I remembered that incorrectly because I literally place and cancel probably 40 or 50 bids at a minimum a day. Sometimes, I could see that amount being in the hundreds. With me almost always having somewhere in the range of 40 or 50,000 stubs to around 90,000 (sometimes in the 100,000 range) seeing numbers in that range for my total is typical.
As for bid totals, I will literally sit there for like 15 or 20 minutes sometimes in a bidding war with someone to try to get cards with large large price gaps as cheap as I can. There are some days where I can do that a few times. That's besides all of the other cards that I place bids on and then cancel.
Besides all of the bids that I place and then cancel in trying to flip cards, I'm really stingy with my stubbs, so I'll commonly cancel a page of orders for 2-6 tokens if I'm outbid by a single dollar because I don't want to wait for that one card to sell before people can begin quick selling that card/player to me.
For the record, those players are for feeding my created character and not for hoarding them to resell. I only hoard like 4 or 5 players (Saunders, Duvall, Neris, Polanco, Desmond and maybe a couple of others). When Polanco and Desmond went to around 1,000, I began selling them.Last edited by Jason_19; 06-29-2016, 07:24 PM.Comment

I wasn't lol'ing at what you said. I was lol'ing at me agreeing with you.

But since they don't know who deserved it, the right thing to do was to fix it so it can no longer be done. The right thing to do is fire the people that keep putting stuff in the Show that doesn't work. The right the to do is not wrongly banning some people so that you are sure you are banning SOME of the correct offenders. If this were a bank robbery, & Sony were the police, there way of handling it would be to arrest the robbers and anyone else that happened to be in the bank at the same time. I think me & you are finally on the same page of agreement that there are a few bans that are impossible to justify. Yet Sony decided to ban them anyway, for their incompetence. And that is a sad day for the Show.T-BONE.

Reading this thread is like reading a press release from a player that gets popped for PEDs. "I didn't knowingly do anything wrong."
The people who did something wrong need to take responsibility and accept their penalty.Comment

Then don't sit back. Say whatever you want. But don't act surprised when I don't believe that. Don't act surprised when people are cynicalComment

I'm not really surprised, though. Edit: Well, I guess I am at some people. I'm more disappointed (overall) than anything I guess.Last edited by Jason_19; 06-29-2016, 05:05 PM.Comment

You can beliver Sony got some of the bannings right.
But you cannot believe both.
If you are reasonable, you will realize Sony ****** up in some of their bannings.T-BONE.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that SDS just willy nilly started banning people just for the sake of banning.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I believe that means that some people did NOTHING wrong. But have we seen even 1 person own up to their lying/cheating/fraud/theft?Last edited by GamecocksLaw17; 06-29-2016, 05:21 PM.Comment

How likely that is will only be known when Sony returns some emails and word leaks out about what the exploit was.Comment

Re: SCEA Bans Many Players for Using Exploits in MLB The Show 16
Who said they didn't deserve it? The people that got banned? Of course you're going to have those who got banned say they didn't deserve it and offer up the excuse that they unknowingly did this exploit. Of course you are. Everyone that gets caught is innocent in their own mind.
I'm sorry, but I don't believe that SDS just willy nilly started banning people just for the sake of banning.
They didn't willy nilly ban people. Like I said earlier they took the time between the patch to fix the exploit and the day of the mass banning to review every case multiple times. So if you got banned there a good chance you did something.
