No since in taking a chance that I might drop my dualshock controller in my lap.

I also find it helpful to wear my batting helmet, too. I've been hit in the head more than once by my wife for telling her to hush,
I'm trying to paint the corners, when what she really wants me to do is just paint the porch.

Whenever I find myself yelling at the umpire, I know its time to put the controller down for the day.

The thought has passed thru my mind to wear home/away jerseys while playing. But then I'd need alternates and throw backs. And what would I do while they are washing?

That is not a valid thought. Her conclusion should be that everyone in here is just as screwed up as you are!

Hi, my name is buziii...and I play MLB 16 too much.

I sometimes switch back to the TV when I hear my wife coming down the steps, so she won't get the right impression on how much I'm playing. When she's in the room, I usually stop playing. Who can focus on a 72 mph curveball below the zone with their wife sitting next to you talking? Duh!

Hi, my name is Esham313 and I'm a Showaholic

I find myself playing at all hours of the night on weekends when family is asleep trying to hide my disease by wearing headphones. Now and then, I get caught and wifey looks at me in disgust and shakes her head. I play franchise and before starting a new series I must make sure my team and opponents team equipment is up to date and make any necessary changes to reflect real life. Wasting around 1-2 hours before even playing the Show. I also make sure I have the latest stadium sounds. Unfortunately I believe I have passed the disease to my oldest as he is now playing homerun derby. Thanks for listening.

Holy crap, I just realized that I actually do have a video game addiction. Maybe I ought to put this stuff on hold and find a job and get my health back into shape.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

So I bought Super Mega League Baseball for PS4 on that PSN sale last week.

My son has not stopped playing. He has literally blown through a 48 game season already inside a week (ahhh summer vacation..I remember those days). Kid has officially become a baseball video game junkie.

BTW....it's freaking awesome arcade baseball fun. Best style of this genre since NES's Baseball Stars. We play head to head games and love it. So much fun.

Yeah, SMB is great. Has your son got into the customization aspect yet? It's not super-deep or anything, but you can rename/redesign all of the in-game players to legends or pro wrestlers or famous airplane pilots or whatever comes to mind.

Someone invokes the name "Baseball Stars" when mentioning a baseball game, I have to take a look and find more information.

I'm looking at the Steam version (I assume, it's called Extra Innings).

It's funny because 2 minutes into reading the community hub, someone talked about how the pitcher recovers after being hit with a batted ball. I just chuckled.

Trying to see what all you can customize. Can you create teams, players, etc. like in Baseball Stars.

Edit: Saw a review where someone going through some stuff has played the game 1,942 hrs. That's by far the most I've ever seen on a Steam review.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I then found my self buying a little handhead baseball pin-ball game that I used with my baseball cards to play baseball games. I even kept up with AB/H/HR/etc on pencil and paper. This soon evolved to strat-o-matic baseball and the world was wonderful. But the world of computers would soon enter the scene when I got my first copy of Hard ball(Actually, I had a Sega Genesis baseball game before this but can't remember much about it other than I played it all the time). This evolved to High-Heat, and then a twist to OOTP. During this time I also found myself playing Backyard Baseball (yes, I did, loved that game actually). Then I found MLB The Show and MLB 2K Baseball at about the same time. Played them both side by side.

Now, I am playing MLB The Show 16 and just finished my first season of the year in just over two months of playing time. Yes, I admit, I played every game, even spring training. I also played about 20-30 "warmup" games before starting my franchise. Now, I am in spring training for the second season and have even put together a text fill with each game and who will be pitching and when, along with who will be starting in what position to make sure everyone gets the time they need during spring training. I even find my self up late at night with this game instead of answering to my wife's calls for me to come to bed.

This is when I realized, maybe I have a problem. I know I'm not alone. It's ok to admit it.
Great post, but how'd you miss playing MVP Baseball?!!

Probably not a day goes by during the spring and summer when I don't have a fond memory of my childhood and spending night after night with my cousin at our grandparents house playing RBI, Baseball Stars, and Baseball Simulator 1.000 for the Nintendo. That's where it all began for me, and though my game playing time has drastically decreased over the past 5 years, I still manage to get a game or two of The Show in here and there. I'm 40 years old and still find myself daydreaming often when I'm away from home about my franchise and possible transactions I could make. Even though there's a really good chance that I won't play a game that evening because of other obligations in life, I still do it daily.
