    Scouting in franchise mode

Looking for some tips on how to scout in your franchise. What do you look for, how often do you change things up, all that good stuff. There's a lot to go into it, to look at, and I would love to see what others do, or how they go about it. Let's get some of those tips out there for everyone else.

    Re: Scouting in franchise mode

The first 3-4 weeks of the season I use to discover talent. I will usually only spend about 4-6 days on each position group and I will change up what particular skills I'm scouting half way through that 4-6 day cycle. Now, if I'm weak at a particular position, then I will allow more time to scout it and vice versa.

Next phase is scouting players. I usually start with the top guys listed, mostly avoiding anyone who has high injury risk (starting to reconsider this, because some of those dudes are really good). I will spend about 3-4 days scouting an individual player, with good scouts that's enough to time to know all you need to know about him. I'll scout the top 15-20 or so listed in the ranking, then I'll start to look for specific positions.

When I narrow my search, I'm really just looking for things that stand out. If I can find an 18yo prospect that has low injury risk and has mostly red in his batting zone, then that's a guy I want to scout.

I feel like there is not enough time to scout and uncover many players so I'm always trying to tweak my approach. Hopefully more people will respond, because I'm curious to how others do it too.
