Why do you think SCEA and other sports developers lean towards creating more modes?

They seem to spend more time creating new modes and fantasy-land rather than putting time into improving gameplay and adding important features. I really don't understand some of the modes out there right now.

It is a marketing and money thing! Touted features like Show Time add no value to the game at all! When you add something that is so gimmicky to a game that (looks) so realistic. It just cheapens the experience of actually been on the field and playing a position.
