The answer to this is the same as the above. Go into your settings like where you change hitting and pitching difficulty. Go to the General tab and hit r2 to go to the advanced page and then go down to injuries and change it to on, off, or manual. Whichever setting you want.

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
I don't know if this is still an issue in 17 and I'll likely make a few franchise saves before advancing, but regarding the playoff eligibility when a player is on the DL Aug 31/Sept 1:
Has anyone tried activating the player (while still injured but past his 10 day DL time) on Aug 31, keeping him on the bench through Sept 1 or 2 (so you play short for a few games then put him back on the DL for 10 days at a time until healed and ready for the playoffs? I know though in general if your minor leagues are done you can bring up guys Sept 1 so you won't play short but I was wondering about going back on the DL after Sept 1 and their eligibility. Often I find players are put on the 10-day DL but their injuries will be longer. Earlier in the year I wanted to move to the 60-day, and only gives me the option to activate the player. Then once active but injured, I can again highlight him and now put him on the 60 -day. So for the playoff eligibility Sept 1, if I activated an injured player, would that get me around the problem that a player on the DL is not recognized as being playoff eligible?Comment

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
I got screwed big time. I was simming a Tiger franchise and in the 2018 season I made the playoffs (I know, I know). Anyway previous to that I had both McCann and Avila (who I brought back) get hurt post September 1st. As of September first I had not called up either Geovany Soto (signed to be a depth catcher at AAA) or or John Hicks because Toledo was in the playoffs. After they were eliminated I brought both up. Now mind you, both Soto and Hicks were on the 40 man roster the entire year. Anyway, come playoff time they go back down and the game won't let me use either for the playoffs. Won't let call anyone up. I ended up having to edit Andrew Romine to a catcher as his primary position (he's the Tigers emergency catcher IRL) and he proceeded to play every inning of every game at catcher until our eventual elimination in game 6 of the world series.
Major issue with the game to not allow injury replacements per actual MLB rules.Comment

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
So it sounds like the real issue is that MLB the Show has not updated to real life. The actual MLB rule changed in 2014?. Before that, a player did have to be on the 25 man roster on 1 Sep (or on the DL) to be used on the playoffs.Comment

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
For a player to be eligible for the postseason active roster, he must have either been on his club's expanded roster or disabled list as of midnight ET on August 31 of that year and not placed on the 60 day disabled list after August 1.[3] The one exception is for replacing players on the disabled list. Since the 2014 season, an injured player eligible for postseason play may be replaced by any player within his club's organization, including players assigned to the club's minor league affiliates who are not on the major league 40-man roster. Prior to 2014, only players who were on a club's 40-man roster (including those added to the expanded roster after August 31 who would not otherwise be eligible for the postseason) at the conclusion of the regular season were eligible to replace injured players on postseason rosters.Comment

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
Is it confirmed in the 17 game that players are eligible for the playoff roster if they are on the active roster or 10 day DL on Sept 1? I don't want to take guys off the DL and put them on the bench and send logical replacements down (making them ineligible for the post-season) if I can keep them inactive and increase the options for the final 25 man post season roster. For example I have two starting pitchers and the starting CF injured and on the bench on Aug 30; I could DL them bring up 3 subs and would all six be eligible? OR will it only be the 3 subs?

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
Alright so I have a pretty big problem in my offline franchise. I had both Chris Archer and Steve Pearce get injured for a couple months in early August. I'm now about to start the playoffs, and both of these two players came off the DL in between the last day of the season and the start of my series in the playoffs, but the game will not put them on my team. I have 25 players but it won't let me take anyone off the playoff roster and it won't let me add anyone either. Just keeps saying both Archer and Pearce are on the DL (which they both are not anymore) and I can't do anything. Anyone know how to fix that?
So in mlb 18 had this problem too and finally found a workaround. In the playoffs, while your player is still on the dl, you have to go to gameplay settings and then in the advanced settings turn injuries to manual. Then go to the dl page and remove the injury. Your player will show up off the playoff roster. Simply add him and then remove someone else. Note: this doesn’t work after they come off the dL.Comment

it's stunning to me that this is still an issue.
It is another one of those legacy issues that SDS won't fix while they concentrate on DD and the money making micro transactions.Comment

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
Yeah, this is still an issue. They also still have the old rule that players must be in the majors on September 1st the be playoff eligible. That rule was changed in MLB years ago, not sure why on earth it's still in The Show. I got screwed by it last year. I brought up Chance Adams after the AAA season and stuck him in the bullpen and he was unhittable. I was so excited to have him as a weapon in the playoffs only to get there and for the game to tell me he wasn't eligible, even though he had been on the 40-man roster for months.
Franchise mode needs attention. No reason why rules that were changed years ago are still in the mode. Goes to show you how little they have paid attention to it the last 5 years or so.Comment

Re: Problem with Playoff Roster and Injuries
Guys, guys guys. I think I have a post earlier in this thread about this, but listen up.
The problem is this. The game isn't letting you replace players that are ON THE DISABLED LIST.
What you need to do is this.....
Any player hurt before August 31, put them on the 10 DAY DL as you normally would.
Any player hurt on or after Sept 1st, DO NOT PUT ON THE D.L. Keep in mind, that september call ups are available then. Simply call up a replacement. If the injured player is still hurt when the playoffs come, you will be able to replace him with ANYONE on the 40 man roster. If the player is on the disabled list when the playoffs begin, you will NOT be able to replace him.
Any player who is injured before Sept 1st, when their time on the DL is up in September, take them off the D.L. Even if their injury isn't healed yet.Comment
