I don't mind the commentary, but I would welcome voice actors with the way things are set up. The commentary is geared primarily, at least in my opinion, to be that of your ball clubs own announcing crew. They show your schedule and how you rate in standings but never show the other team.

With this in mind, what I would like is either generic voice actors who only get excited when your team does something well, like a hometown team, or keep Matty V and Karros and Lyons and make it like a National broadcast.

    Just my .02
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I don't think there's anything wrong with the guys SCEA is using now. The problem is that SCEA is feeding them really bad lines. Even Morgan Freeman would sound boring if he just threw out disjointed 1-liners all game long.

Watch an actual MLB-Network broadcast with Matty V and then compare it to The Show and the difference is HUGE. I realize a video game would never equate to an actual TV broadcast 100% but I mean it's not even similar. The booth on MLB-N is saying like actual things that actually make sense. They are talking about actual trends and responding to visual cues like on-screen displays and in-game events.

The guys in The Show just say generic stuff like "hey look at this on screen display but I won't say anything specific about it" and then there's just an awkward silence while you stare at a list of the teams with the most home runs or something. It's bad.

I wouldn't protest new voices in the booth, but what The Show really needs is much better script writing.

Could not agree more with this. It's not the commentators themselves, its the script and delivery. They really need to start recording everyone in the same booth, that's the only way it's ever going to have a natural sounding conversation. Even the new stories/conversations they added this year are horribly bland. It sounds like they're reading word for word off a script and stat sheet, not like they are having an actual conversation about the topic at hand.

I gotta wade in with my opinion, however unpopular it may be. The more SCEA tries to beef up the conversations among the announcers, the worse it gets. I believe that only one announcer is needed and there is nothing wrong with dead air time, when you can listen to the crowd, stadium organ, vendors, etc. Matt is fine, but I would rather have an actor mimicking the voices of great past announcers. It would be fantastic to hear the voices of Mel Allen, Red Barber, Harry Carey, Phil Rizzuto, Jack Brickhouse, Bob Prince, etc. in the game. Those guys could carry a broadcast by themselves. The babbling of the color commentators in the show (and in real baseball) adds nothing.

I would rather have a two-man booth but even a one-man booth is better than the third wheel the Show has now . I would just as soon keep Vasgersian and all the lines hes all ready recored then dump Karros and Lyons and add someone new to get the sound fresh again . I expect 17 to employ the same 3 crew but maybe by 18 we can move forward .

Don't know if anyone is watching the Yanks Dodgers on MLB Network.

But if you heard the way Matty V just called the back to back Hr's by the Yanks it just makes it that much annoying to hear him in the Show. There was actually some excitement and energy in that call that is really just never in the Show. They really need to pump up the energy in the calls.

I've said this for awhile. I could care less if the commentators are big names.

I'd rather they hire a duo that can just do commentary for weeks on end in production. Get a ton out. Ive said this for nearly all sports games.

Re: Wish The Show would use actors for the commentary/presentation

What I fail to understand is year after year its been a complaint a high in demand complaint. The show has been good at listening to the community, I take it Matt V is under contract of some sort, sometimes though just need to cut your losses especially if say hes got one or two years left on a deal.

A 2 man booth and maybe a field reporter would be best, if actors so be it as long as they audition well and sound like broadcasters. It would make a ton more sense to find people who could be available almost always on say a 5 year deal.

This problem comes off as lazy as much as it may not be, they dont want to "waste time" (in their eyes) ripping out thousands of lines theyve made and put into audio work, its time to let go SCEA. Also do not repeat the same mistakes you made in the past, if what you have now is the best you got for audio presentation well its time to hire some new people to the team and move on from whoever has been responsible for whats been made and stuck with for the past 3-6 years.

I would love this as an A's fan. Growing up in a split household, I would even be ok with Kuiper and Krukow. Though I would prefer Jon Miller over the Giants TV crew.

I wonder if theres enough room on the disc to leave Vasgersian and his crews lines in , and then just move on to a new 'actor' crew . Have the option to choose ''Classic Commentary'' or ''New Commentary'' .
