    Scouting in the West

Is it me or is there a lack of prospects in the west region for franchise? I try to hire the best scout for the west, but he only finds 7-10 prospects for the infield before I get the message that the region is completely scouted.

Honestly to me scouting feels random. I have the highest end scouts available bringing me back a guy with C potential and on draft day he turns out to be a 73 Ovr A potential.

This may be dumb on my part but when you say the scout brought you back a guy with C potential do you mean a guy in the 70 range? Because in this year's game they went to the 20-80 scale for scouting and potential so I think 70s would be normal 90s on 100 scale

No. He brought back a guy who was 80 POT 70 Ovr. Dream player right? I scout him and he tanks. 60 POT 55 ovr. On draft day he's a B POT 75 OVR.

Scouting has elements of randomness in it for sure, all along the process, including which prospects actually enter the draft.

Better quality scouts may improve the chances of bringing back better talent, but there's no certainties. Presumably, scouting in their "preferred" region would as well, but there's no known (that I've seen) idea what scout's region actually does or how much it matters.

Most of the top players on minimal accuracy "tank" because those players weren't really that high to begin with. Sometimes the weaker looking players are hidden gems. It goes both ways.

Best you can do is keep at it and keep hoping - a lot like real life.
