    Relative difficulty of rtts vs franchise

    I usually play franchise (all star hitting / HOF pitching). I mess around with rtts and lately made a concerted push to throw some of my stubs in and play for a while to get a pet pitcher i made through to MLB. All fine in the minors. Super easy, i had 105 K in 58 IP / 1.43 ERA. Of course got called up. Problem is in MLB i am getting thwacked at an obscene rate: 37 IP / 57 H / 44 K / 19 BB / 5.91 ERA.

    Is hall of fame "harder" in rtts than franchise?

    Traits wise my pitcher is fine, if he was in franchise i would expect him to ERA something like 3.0 / 1.30 WHIP / 9-10 K/9.

    Also i make tons of throwing errors when the time slows down. Is there a way to stop that?

    Any thoughts would be appreciates.

    I've heard that HOF on Rtts is considered harder. Aka legend.

      It's not quite that simple, but yes, that's exactly what's going on. If OP is in the MLB level and playing on HoF, the difficulty is actually equivalent to Legend. It shifts one difficulty for each level of the minors you move up, and starts one below your selected difficulty in AA.

      So, for HoF:

      AA = All-Star
      AAA = Hall of Fame
      MLB = Legend

      This has been explained by the devs in the past, and is also in the in-game strategy guide.

        Much appreciated

        Updated:
        Going to All Star fixed it. I play with human control/consistency at 2 and I'm just not good enough to play on Legend.
        Since then I had 2 middling QS's, 2 CG (1 shutout), and was blown out early once. That is more along the lies of what I would expect.

          That's a "feature" they should eliminate and let us play in whatever difficulty we want from the minors to the big leagues. If i want to play in all star from AA let me do it.

            I don't disagree. I feel like the logic behind that is to give those who play RTTS casually an increasing challenge, even though it's an articficial challenge due to a behind-the-scenes difficulty increase (and to make it easier for those same people to blow through the minor leagues and get to MLB faster). But that doesn't really go so well for those of us who want a consistent experience throughout the mode.

            There is one way it can be countered completely, such that you won't even have to change the difficulty manually when you move up - Dynamic Difficulty. If you progress to the level you want to stay at and then lock it in place by lowering the slider for it to zero, you will be playing on that level all the time. Dynamic is exempt from this difficulty shift rule.

              I know about the workaround but we should have a more transparent way of playing in the difficulty we prefer. Thanks for the tip anyways.

                Re: Relative difficulty of rtts vs franchise

                I've seen my dynamic difficulty hitting plummet to embarrassing levels when I finally started my RTTS the other day. I'm consistently not able to make good contact with my RTTS guy, yet in my franchise i'm hitting ding-dongs like crazy!

                Maybe it's a psychological thing, but I have also created myself in my franchise and I can still hit well with him.

                I thought maybe the camera angle was different for RTTS throwing off my timing, but I confirmed the other day that it was indeed still fisheye.
