Directional Hitting with Analogue and Stride Question

Good afternoon Baseball Junkies!

Quick question. Last year the Analogue "flick" worked that when moving the right stick up you can to match the ball location on the plate. i.e up and to the left, straight up or up and to the right.

Does this apply to Directional hitting with analogue w/ stride? or is it like the previous analogue stride batting where you just have to push the stike up regardless of where on the plate the pitch is thrown.
