I wonder any chance if the fellas have known since last year there wouldn't be a PS3 version this year and they've spent all this time redoing the animations with new players models?

Wishful thinking I'm sure.

I feel they have known for a couple years for when they were going to drop the PS3 version.

This will be the 4th edition of the game on the PS4, right? Its no surprise that its time to drop the older system support. Some games do it earlier. I feel for the guys who can't afford to buy a PS4, but I think that they did it long enough.

Curious as to what features may now be included. The things that I want the most though, offline franchise depth, I don't think would be effected either way.

There are very few things anyone could do more of on the PS3 at this point. Especially, without interfering with the PS4 version now. Last gen and its hazy carryover lasted almost a decade. It's definitely time to move on.

Honestly, I don't know how many people were devoted to the PS3 version on the dev team, but you would have to think patching, deadlines, PS3 only art and optimization, et cetera has to be a big time consumer even if it was only a couple people involved.

Nevermind the aspects of the engine that didn't update well because of the original PS3 code.

I just hope it's not graphics. So far, I've only heard people talking about graphics improvements.

Gameplay improvements are needed as are AI improvements.

I am one of those PS3 people that will be culled, but if it's just graphics improvements, I won't be tempted to get a PS4 just for this game.

Gameplay is just about perfect though. About the only thing that real needs to be improved with the game play is CPU bullpen management. Its the graphics that are behind right now. NBA, NHL look way better then this game and madden looks kind of better.

For the love of god, please make the game run at 60 fps the ENTIRE time. I'm sick of the slow-downs during some cut scenes and celebrations.

This, and I'm also hoping games (not just this one, most all sports games) can do cuts without any of that pause and fading cut.

Kind of brings me back to the "video games need to load" kind of thing. I don't blame them at all. Just hoping the PS4 Pro can help address this kind of thing... but maybe not.

Yeah this the gameplay is great and there are not a lot of ways that I can think of that the gameplay can get better. The game already plays very realistic and animations are already. The gameplay is like a rock-solid 60 FPS but things like cut scenes are more like 20 FPS.

So many jump to assumptions so quickly on The Show forum every year. It really does seem like The Show forum gets worse every year which is a shame. Mods will be getting busier now.

Hence the qualifier "At this point" . Given the SCEA track record we should at least assume with so much more to be revealed that 17 will be more than just a prettier 16 with the roster updated .

But that makes even less sense. There can be no qualifier because we have no information.

I mean I could say " At this point 17 is going to make 16 look like 09 compared to 12" But it still doesn't make it make sense because there is no information to base the statement on.

That is not why this specific sub-forum is going downhill...there are other reasons that is happening.

Back on topic, even though we don't know much about the game yet, I can assess with 95% certainty that Diamond Dynasty will take a more prominent role in this year's game than past iterations. The cover athlete and pre-order perks are a dead giveaway. Not being a micro-transactions kinda guy, I'm not happy with the direction.
