Strange white line at the very top of the screen during night games!

Has anyone noticed in night games only you can see a very small white line going across the top of the screen right at the edge?

I have a Sony XBR43X800D 4K TV and the PS4 Pro. In the PS4 Pro settings I moved the viewing area as far as it will go to fill the screen. Under my XBR43X800D settings it is set to +1 for viewing area which is because it is receiving a native 4K signal. Now on my 1080P TV with the standard PS4 I was able to remove that white line but setting my TV to non over scan mode and then was able to make the viewing area bigger in the PS4 settings. On the 1080P TV you would see the white line if you set the TV to full pixel mode.

MLB The Show is the only game that has this white line as far as I can tell.

Is this a bug in MLB The Show?

Yeah, I've noticed that for a while now, on both the base PS4 and PS4 Pro. It's not too bothersome.

I still say this should be fixed!

No other game on PS4 has this issue I think.

Been there since at least MLB 13 for me. Not a huge issue, wouldn't care if it was fixed or not

I remember this being discussed earlier when the game came out. The solution offered was to adjust settings on your TV, as this fixed this issue for one user.

I myself don't have this issue so I'm not sure what to offer as a solution and given that only a handful of people commented on the thread previously leads me to believe that this isn't a widely experienced issue.

Odd first I have ever heard of this.

If you use Just Scan mode or sometimes called Full Pixel mode on your TV you should be able to see it during night games. I call it a white line but it's really a small white light bleeding though or something like that. It's like MLB The Show is not sized property for the screen. It is a very small white line and is not a game killer or anything like that. I guess i mainly bring this up because MLB The Show seems to be the only game I have come across that has this issue.

If you look closely I think the white line even moves a little as the game pans.

Now if I were to use 16 by 9 mode instead of just scan I could hide the white line by going into the PS4 Pro settings and stretching the screen some. However I have the PS4 Pro set to 4K so my TV can only use Just Scan/Full Pixel mode.

I have heard of the game not taking up the whole screen like it should but never a white line before and I have no idea what scan mode or full pixel mode is has I have never heard of it before.

It's whatever option your TV calls mapping the image resolution 1:1 on the pixels of your television set, or at least fitting it to the 16:9 aspect ratio without any overscan or cropping.

But if you have, say a 3840 x 2160 television set and The Show 16 only displays 3840 x 2159, then there might be a horizontal line of resolution missing at the very top of the screen when using this "screen fit" type of option.

Just overscan the image a hair in the PS4 settings (unless it is maxed out), and all will be okay. However, we prefer playing without any overscan whatsoever I'm sure, so fixing this for next year's game is ideal. Or the television itself is accidentally shifting down the image a row of pixels or something, in which case Sony (TV company) needs to address that for themselves.

I have not seen this myself, but I don't have a 4KTV nor PS4 Pro.

Here are a few screenshot I just took of what I am talking about.

I went into replay mode and as you move around the sky you can actually see the white line appear and disappear depending on what part of the sky you are looking at. In fact in one of the screenshots you can even see this white line on the right side of the screen.

Save them to your computer and have a look at them in a viewer to see the full image.

I got to say I am kind of surprised there are not more of you complaining about this. I mean maybe it's not a game killer but it does get a little annoying seeing a strange thin white line going across the top and sometimes side of the screen.

Anyone using the standard PS4 and if your TV to "Just Scan" "Full Pixel" Mode will see this white Line during night games. Or if you are using the PS4 Pro and set it to run in 4K you will also see the white Line in night games. At least with my TV when the source is native 4K the full image is shown kind of like "Just Scan" "Full Pixel" modes.

And when using Just Scan/ Full Pixel Modes or if you have your PS4 Pro set to 4K the PS4 built in Video resizer will not help.

I rarely even notice it now. I know there is a fix out there with re sizing your screen settings. ( Not with the PS4, but actually in the TV) but I never bothered with it.

Perhaps if MLB The Show 17 on PS4 Pro will be Native 4K that will remove this white line?

                            Just hoping anyway.

See that's one of the issues at least with my Sony XBR43X800D . Since I have the PS4 Pro set to 4K my Sony XBR43X800D does not allow me to change the view mode or resizing it.

Like for example I know if I could put my TV in 16 by 9 mode it would remove the white line.

                              O well I guess I am screwed

Russell if you read this may I ask what kind of TV's do you where you are developing MLB The Show? Do you have the Sony XBR43X800D around by chance and could you test this please. just set the Pro to 4K and play a night game in basically any stadium and when the sky is completely dark you should be able to see the white line at the top edge of the screen. And in fact if you go into replay mode and move around you can even see the white line disappear and reappear in different spots.

                              Thanks
