Probably because none of those things have to do with baseball

      Few thoughts on the trailer:

I'm curious of this showcast thing.

Bad baserunner note: the hitter on deck (Arrieta) should be near home plate advising Heyward where to slide.

Wonder what other equipment will be available besides New Balance?

I do wish they'd clean up some the follow-thrus - as a an example, look how far down Griffey's front shoulder dips in his swing (:53 second mark) and the normal follow-thrus seem a bit too rushed.

This is what I'm talking about:

Really? This isn't gonna fly. A smart *** rebuttal is not gonna be tolerated. He has his opinion and you have yours.

I'm a Franchise mode guy and miss the features removed after MLB 12. Plus, Madden, NHL, and NBA 2K ended up putting a lot of "Owner" control features into the game, so I am hoping the MLB guys reverse course on the stripped down Franchise mode feature set. Unfortunately, I did not see anything in the trailer that game me much hope they are putting the missing features back.

Yeah, in last year's trailer player equipment changed from then to release. But if you mean them getting the rights to Adidas equipment between now and release, I really doubt it, but it could happen I guess.

Retro Mode seems like a waste of time and resources. If someone really wants an arcade Baseball experience, there are plenty of options that cost far less money.

The dialogue choices for RTTS are interesting, though the UI looks a little rough. Should be interesting if these choices form a kinda of relationship/story within your team.

Disappointed with another year of the same old models. Game looks graphically identical to last year. Hopefully performance and lighting has been fixed?

Signs from 3rd Base Coach are back, right?!

So I'm curious, why is retro mode a waste of time and resources? Because you wouldn't ever play it?

We don't know how much time and resources were used for retro mode. It may have been a completely separate team that worked on it.

I understand the want for any games devs to focus on what you think is most important. But I am guessing this mode tested really well with surveys and presentations.

                        I said why.

If someone is looking for Arcade Baseball ,there are tons of options currently available that are not only cheaper but fuller Arcade Experiences.

Maybe read the post more carefully before you rush as fast as possible to defend any critique against the game

Right, but if it was a waste of resources, the team would've left it on the cutting room floor. This team knows exactly what they're working with.

The retro mode is much simpler to play and won't bring as much frustration to young gamers. Talking 6-12 crowd here. The play the fun retro mode at their friends house and enjoy belting home runs. Then they ask their parents to buy the game. A few years later they are playing the game in the regular mode.

Just tacking onto an antiquated system is not what I was hoping for. I do hope that these last couple of games have been fillers and they are working on a "brand new" game, but with all the cuts they've been making, this may not be.

This is what happens when there is no competition.
I have to agree. I feel MLB has stagnated since coming into this gen. Of course, it helps the game is still a very good game, but it still doesn't feel next-gen, or this gen. The graphics are a huge part, as well as the ball not being so dynamic. Hit variety has definitely improved, but still not were it needs to be. This trailer looks to be addressing hit variety though, along with RTTS enhancements (it was getting boring but please no story), can't say the same for the graphics. It's weird, because MLB 17 is going to be a very good game I'm sure, but will it be different enough is the real question. MLB used to be a definite buy for me before this gen started. We'll see.

What about those of us who would like to play both? Its nice to have both options in a single video game.
