Because if it is an older build without most of the new graphic features I bet anything alot of us hear will be complaining about how 17 looks just like 16 lol

I am way more excited about the upcoming MLB The Show 17 news then I am about the Super Bowl that's for sure and I am a huge football fan too.
I still don't see what is so bad about the current graphics.

I may be setting myself up for disappointment, but I am hoping that "Franchise Launch Pad" is a new relocation/expansion mode for franchise.

We would be able to "launch" a new franchise, and use the Diamond Dynasty logo/uniform creator to design the look of the new franchise.

After that, we would be able to pick a stadium where our new franchise would play home games. I would not expect a stadium creator this year, but perhaps if they expanded such a mode in the future, they could include that feature.

I guess we will find out in a few weeks, but I am crossing my fingers!

It's more likely to be where you can start a franchise at any point of the season, in real life, and all stats and results from real life are up to date in your franchise. Then from that point on you control the results.

What I really want is that aspect, but where you only control your games and the rest of the league is based on real life. So if the Cubs are 60-34 in real life and your A's are 40-52, you only impact what the A's are doing and the Cubs stats are based on real life. The only time the Cubs stats would change based on your playing is if you played A's vs Cubs in the franchise. Then the Cubs stats would vary, slightly, from real life.

Doubt the latter part happens anytime soon in a video game, but pretty sure launchpad is the first described part in my post here.

That would be phenomenal. Last year by now they had already confirmed it was not in the game so until they officially deny it we can dream. There are enough classic stadiums now to be able to pick a stadium to your liking. The big thing for me would be to have my own created team and as you said use the diamond dynasty created logo and uniforms.

Excuse me if it's obvious, but why is your speculation more likely? The only information we have received are the words "Franchise Launch Pad". Like I said, my speculation is likely incorrect, but I'm not sure how you can be confident in a new feature based on three words.

[QUOTE=Yngwie Swain;2048683317....hope is the "Cat and Mouse" is pre-disposing Catcher abilities to read and react to baserunners according to their defensive ratings.

                  [/QUOTE]

What I would like to see on the cat & mouse game:

                  - the ability to to take smaller steps lead at first base. Right now, 1 step and pitcher get a hint and will try to pick you up. 2 steps and you're out most of the time. Taking half-step increment would lead to more cat&mouse type of game challenge where you'll have to find out how far you can stretch it with each runner.

                  - cat & mouse between the runners and the catcher. A catcher who knows the runner on first base is a rabbit will first position himself differently and will try to accelerate his throw to second. For sure this come with a payoff in terms of accuracy and I guess the probably to drop the ball when quickly transferring the ball from the glove to throwing hand.

If this is now in this week please take it as a suggestion for next year :-)

Because it's been talked about in the past by the devs. And RR himself has discussed this kind of feature.

I dont know if this is a new idea or has been kicked around before, but its the first time I've heard about it, and this is a phenomenal idea and would love to be able to make use of it.
I would like to think though that if attribute ratings are done 'right', like in custom historic rosters of old, that teams like the 1983 Mariners would stink it up if run by the CPU while teams like the 1984 Tigers would run roughshod over the rest of the league, if run by the cpu.
And so far in most cases in general, in my limited experiences that has been the case.

IMO, the words Franchise Launch Pad have no correlation with Relocation. Considering how it doesn't seem MLB wants relocation in their games. I don't think that's likely.

Now considering the The Show Live feature was taken from NBA 2K where you can play today's games with today's lineups. And NBA 2k also added a few years ago the ability to start a franchise from the current day with current standings and stats. It seems likely that they might take that ides as well.

Also consider that "Launch Pad" could translate to "We get you going in franchise from current day aka Launch you into today."

All that makes it seem more likely than relocation feature.

Ramone also mentioned in one of the videos speeding up franchise playing and this would be one way.

Good points. While MLB might not want relocation in the game, Commissioner Manfred seems to be quite supportive of potential expansion in the future. Manfred has been vocal about MLB expanding.

You would have to play along with the real season for that to work though, so I doubt that will ever be implemented

Plus, how would you handle trades?

I mean, the way I see it is that it is an alternative universe from the time you start your franchise. I actually like seeing how thing play out differently.
