Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Gameplay Improvements & Animation Expansion
But at first base, its a cat and mouse game with the pitcher. I would rather have the control over whether or not I dive back safely to the base instead of it being a dice roll based solely on baserunning attributes.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

They might not be full blown new player models but I definitely see some improvements!

It's not a surprise to the runner in real life anyway when the fielder runs to cover the bag.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Gameplay Improvements & Animations Expansion
They could keep all the same overall model and animations intact, but if they could make the jerseys have more free-flowing physics to them so that they don't look so stiff, similar to NBA 2k's jerseys, I think it would do wonders for the look of the players. Have the jerseys bounce slightly when players are running, let them subtly blow in the wind, twist when players swing, etc. Stuff like that would make a big difference to the look and atmosphere of the game, without having to go and re-do the player models entirely, animations and all. I don't know how possible something like that would be to implement, but it's gotta be easier than changing the entire animation engine for all new player models.
Seeing the slight change in Arrieta's sleeves in that pic makes it seem like they are going more down the route of improving jerseys, and hopefully something like more advanced cloth physics is not too far down the line.Comment

I can't reveal my sources but I have it on good authority he has been doing dips, pull ups, curls and Arnolds during the off season.≡Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Gameplay Improvements & Animations Expansion
I haven't played The Show extensively for 3 years now and last time was on ps3. Looking at that video, and not sure if it has been fixed for a while now, but the pitcher seems to snap his wrist when he throws like you would expect him to in real life. Previous games I played, it never looked right. Now it looks much more fluid and natural.
Again, this may have been fixed for a couple of years but I was happy to see that.#WeAreUKComment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Gameplay Improvements & Animations Expansion
You know, I know this board likes to talk about new player models all the time, and I agree with it for the most part. They feel outdated, compared to what other games are doing. But the more I think about the current ones, the more I realize that it's not necessarily player models themselves that aren't great. It's really just the cloth physics on the jerseys that could be improved.

Wasn't the biggest fan of 2K baseball, but their jersey physics were quite good in my opinion. If it was a windy day, you could tell.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Gameplay Improvements & Animations Expansion
I am hoping to see (but I won't hold my breath), is the Mets Home Run celebration...most of the time when the player who hit the homer comes to the dugout, Asdrubal Cabrera takes the batting helmet off of the players head and tosses it up in the air to the batboy. Would love to see that!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Gameplay Improvements & Animation Expansion
I am hoping that some of the new animations are new diving/jumping/lunging catch animations for outfielders in particular. I personally, think the ones they have now lack "excitement/flair" for lack of better terms.
I want to see a catch animation play out that makes me say "WOW! What a catch!"I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
