Re: MLB The Show 17 Twitch Stream - Gameplay, Animations & Retro-Mode Deep Dive

I can't figure how to turn off these icons no matter what setting I choose in the options (including the manager tips that show up...didn't get to capture that)...notice how the baserunner icon is even in the throw back from the pitcher to check the runner scenario...also happens on no doubt foul balls into the stands (didn't used to be this way). I use auto baserunning, auto fielding (manual throwing), auto defensive shift...just hoping for more options to get stuff off the screen for a better representation of broadcast look.I can't remember the first year was when we could turn everything off (I think MLB 15?), but I've been able to disable baserunner windows every year since getting these games back in '09. Don't see why it won't change now.

Speaking of which, the baserunner window is a perfect example of this game being WIP. They obviously (or likely) won't look the way they do right now when the game releases.Last edited by brrmikey; 02-12-2017, 12:06 AM.Comment

Here's another example from PYS and the Show with Yu Darvish. I still think the main difference is the Show not capturing how pitchers tuck their glove in as they pitch and then not getting the finish of the delivery down either.

 While we are on Umpires,

For the love of God and all that is holy, I pray they kept the umpire introduction OSD they added back in for MLB 16. Was great to see that and know what plate umpire as well as crew I had for that particular series (without having to pause the game and see it in the game log which ruins immersion). For me it is important as I love knowing when I am going to have to deal with Clyde Washington and Woody Keller.

 LOL.

I would like it to go one step farther. I'd like to see the umpires for the game on the lineup screen. That way you know going into the game what you have to deal with.

I agree I mean the way it is in 16 Sony might as well rename fast play mode to "Super Fast" mode and presentation mode should be renamed to "Fast Play" mode!

Honestly there is no normal speed presentation mode in MLB The Show 16 as far as I am concerned! Comment

The real question is why do those player movements look so lifelike in that 2012 video, but we are into 2017 and there have been no improvements to player movements?Comment

I would add please get the umpire personalities to work. It was a great concept, but the umps simply did not ump consistently to their stated personalities. While we are on Umpires,

I noticed in the video that Will Myers is swinging a Mizuno bat.
