This. I think they have the perfect mix of young talent/holes to make for a super fun franchise.

This year I will probably have franchises with:

      Twins (favorite team)
Braves (They have Bartolo, everything else is icing on the cake!)
Astros (FO put them into a win now mode this off-season with the signings of Reddick, Aoki, and Beltran)
      Watch me game on Twitch!

      College Football - Iowa Hawkeyes
      College Basketball - Iowa Hawkeyes

      MLB - Minnesota Twins
      NBA - Oklahoma City Thunder
      NFL - New York Jets
      NHL - Minnesota Wild

I'm going to take the Indians to the World Series (and win it this time) and then I'll probably rebuild the Braves.

I always have an elaborate randomized pick for my franchise. I really hope I try new modes like Player Lock, I always used to have that on my wishlist but never really give it a chance. Anyway, as far as looking forward to in this years game:

          Team: RAYS
          Player: J. Heyward

Just wanted to add, I'm greatly looking forward to seeing the old bronx bombers stadium. It would be nice if sooner than later Sony would release full retro teams. It's amazing to think of seeing nostalgic baseball teams from the 30s-50s-70s-90s etc revived on the PS4 format.

Re: Teams you looking forward to use?

I am a Rockies fan. I know, not an easy thing to be these days. But I have a hard time imagining playing for another NL team, especially the other NL West teams.

In 2016 I needed to spice things up with my MLB The Show experience. So I played the season with the Red Sox at Fenway Park and had a good year. It was a good experience and cool to see some of the AL stadiums I never gotten to play much at in the past. However I have always preferred the NL over the AL. Playing a season with an AL team gave me a better insight into how AL teams work. In the AL, unless your pitcher gets into trouble in the middle of an inning or you wanted to match up a specific relief pitcher to a specific batter, managing an AL team was pretty straight forward. I hoped that my pitchers could last until the end of an inning and then at the beginning of the next inning sub in a new pitcher. Managing in the NL is much more dynamic with the need to watch where your pitcher is in the batting rotation as the game progresses with pinch hitting and potential double switches.

So in 2017 I will be back playing with the Rockies again. I am optimistic that the team will be competitive. They likely won't be able to finish ahead of the Giants or the Dodgers. But they should be better than the Padres and will be competitive with the D-Backs.

Orioles (my team) pitching can be a challenge at times, but hitting with that lineup is almost unfair. Hopefully this will be my first year where I can all the games in a 162 game season. I usually get to 80 or 90 at get burned out.

What is your plan with the O's? I have been deciding if I should just play out 2017 and then trade everyone not named Manny, Gausman, Bundy. Or just trade everyone from the get go and see what happens with a young team built around Manny.

With the RttS player I've been using since '14, I purposely signed with the Braves (had to do the whole "try-out" thing) in '16 version of The Show knowing I'll get to play in SunTrust Park. Looking forward to that.

I'd hold on to Schoop too, i think he has a good chance to be something really special.
Might as well hold on to Britton until he's a FA in '19, maybe trade him at the '18 deadline if youre not in contention and can get some real value for him.

Re: Teams you looking forward to use?

Im a strange one. Ill be controlling a handful of teams.

Boston: Pitching Staff + Mook, X and Benentendi
                      Yanks: Prospects
                      Tigers: Hometown team. Will dismantle
                      Sox: Farm System
Mariners: 2nd favorite team cuz of Griffey Jr
                      Astros: CC, Altuve, Springer

Atlanta: Another team ive followed closely since i was a kid with Chipper. Plus their Farm system
Mets: Noah, Harvey, DeGrom, Matz, Cespedes +
Cubs: Absolute Studs in Rizzo, Baez, AR, Contreras
                      Reds: Rebuild
Rockies: Followed closely as a kid as well cuz kf Ealker, Helton, Bichette.
Arizona: Not sure why other than Goldy. But theyve been fun last two iterations for me

As you see, i love the rebuilding teams. Love playing with the prospects these teams have and building the team up from there. Also, with this many teams, i cant just go crazy and trade off all bad contracts and i dont sign the same players i would if i did multiple franchises.
Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit Tigers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay Packers
                      Detroit Red Wings

That is an option too. I am the type though unless I am really out of it (which hasn't happened for me with the O's since MLB 11), I am hesitant to make any moves unless it's to just improve the current roster. Which why I would trade Britton before the 18 season since we still have O'Day, Givens, and possibly Brach if I don't deal him too.

I have also thought about trading Manny since financially speaking unless the farm is improved greatly we won't be able to afford much of a great team around him assuming he is signed to the market value price of around 30 million a year. We shall see, I still have about three months until the game comes out and then OSFM drops before I need to make a final decision about what to do with either starting a new franchise or carrying over the current one I have.

The Phillies as always even though they will most likely still have very little to no offense.

This year I'll be doing two Braves franchises. I have one I started last year where I replaced all of their players with CAT players made up of people myself and my son know. We'll play that one together. Carry over from 16.

Then, I'm going to start a new Braves Franchise this year with the real team. Really excited about it quite actually.

I also have a Rangers Franchise I did last year where I swapped the Braves and Rangers rosters. It is in 2018. Not completely sure if I'll bring that one forward or not.

I usually do 2 franchises with the birds. The first I do I wait until they release the opening day rosters, and try and play every game. The second roster I do, I wait for the OSFM rosters to come out and do more of a sim approach I play a few games here or there but mostly simulate unless they make the playoffs and than I play every game. With the first one I'll play and try to stay as true to the Orioles roster as possible. The only time I make a trade is if someone gets injured, or I can't produce with a certain player. For the second one, as long as the team is winning I will try and keep the team in tact. If they start losing I will trade most of the team and try and build around Manny. The O's are in a tough spot with most of the roster gone after the 2019 season. If I do trade most of the team, I will for sure keep Machado, Schoop, Gausman, and Bundy. When Jones' contract is up I'm letting him walk. I'm excited to see how franchise will unfold.
