MLB: The Show and Naughty Dog Games (Uncharted & The Last of Us) are the reason I stick with the Playstation brand but they are by no means all I play.


Right now I am playing Nioh and in a few weeks I will be picking up Horizon: Zero Dawn (Both Exclusives). Those should get me to March 28th.

MLB 14 was one reason why I bought my PS4, but not the only, knowing I play other games as well.

Only reason I owned a PS3 was for The Show. The only reason I bought a PS4 was for The Show. I play it year round and close to 365 days a year.

So far I've purchased a PS3, PS Vita and my PS4 just for the Show. I've contemplated buying other games for my PS4 but never have because I know I won't ever play them.

The reason I originally purchased a PS4 was indeed to get MLB The Show. But, I use the PS4 as a DVD player and also for my TV watching/subscription (PS Vue and MLB TV).

Well, this has been asked on this forum many times, so you are not alone.

While I play other PS4 games besides The Show, but if not for The Show I would not have bought a PS3 when I did in 2008. My first wife basically asked for a divorce after I bought a PS3 because she thought video games were so stupid and I spent too much time playing them instead of sitting on the couch watching reality TV and eating McDonald's chicken McNuggets with her. Well, we split for many reasons, but she later said the day she knew for sure that she wanted to divorce was the day I came home with a new PS3. All good, I would have already asked for a divorce from her before then if she wasn't so freaky in the bedroom. C'mon, not like I'm the only man to stay in a bad relationship for that reason, right??? *ahem, Brad Pitt? ahem* Ok, too far off topic. But she was a crazy ***** who needed to be medicated anyway; I stand by my decision to buy a PS3 for the Show to this day.

I bought a PS4 basically for The Show in 2015. My current wife was encouraging, saying "sure, go ahead an buy it!" She's a keeper.

Well, it is far enough in the past now that I can admit:
a) I probably did play too many video games back then (PC games especially, not just The Show) and I didn't take my marriage that seriously, but that was because
b) that ex-wife was crazy and it wouldn't have mattered anyway, we still would have gotten divorced with a year or so. But in her case, holy cow it was completely true what they say about the crazy ones being wild when it comes to stuff like that.

But again, I am completely comfortable with my decision to buy a PS3 for The Show back then.


I've already told my current, lovely, nice, and sane wife that I'm taking vacation days the week The Show 17 comes out and I apologized in advance if I monopolize the big screen TV for a few days.

I bought my PS4 only to get MLB the show. I have since bought a few other games, but who has time for that when I have 162 games to get in?

Kind of related: My wife gets home from work last night and tells me "I was thinking of surprising you with a PS4 tomorrow."

Obviously I already got it and a better deal, but just the fact that she actually thought of doing that for me. And I know how ridiculous she thinks it is to have both systems.

I will soon be buying a PS4 for The Show 17, but to put it more specifically in my case, I bought a PS3 mostly for The Show. Years ago I was happy with my PS2 until I found out that The Beatles: Rock Band was only being released for the then next-gen consoles. I had already been buying The Show for years after MVP went belly up, and although my coworkers were telling me to buy an Xbox so we could play online, I'm not into the FPS genre and I was never impressed with the MLB2K franchise, so going PS3 was a no brainer for me.

So, um, yeah, I went Sony for The Show, basically. It'll be great to finally catch up to everyone else on the current-gen baseball front, but it's gonna suck having to repurchase all my favorite Pinball Arcade tables and reimporting my DLC into Rock Band 4.

I bought a ps4 slim last month just for the Show , off amazon i got the slim and mlb 16 for $287 shipped, (now slims are $250) on amazon. I have been playing it non stop since,I am a huge braves fan and after being drafted by them in the RTTS, I finished my first year, made the 40man roster, signed a 15 year deal, only to be traded to the padres where I now split time withe everyone .

I only have a ps4 for the show and need to wait another year or 2 here to up grade to a 4k tv and ps4 pro. this is due to needing to bring the cost of playing the show to under $150 per year before I can sell off what I have. $400 for ps4 $60 a year for the show times 4 years $240 and 4 years of ps+ $200 so yea $210 a year to play baseball. worth every dollar
