My guesses for the other 2 are Harold Reynolds, John Smoltz, or Jim Kaat. I would say Costas but I would imagine his cost would be too high. I would pick Al Leiter and Peter Gammons if I had a choice.

I've been playing sports games for a very long time. Commentary in every game gets a bit stale after awhile. Even if they have a reworked script eventually they start repeating stuff.. Only so much you can do in a game.

Yea the most important thing, for me, is for them to include specific commentary about how guys are performing in the franchise and years prior in the franchise.

          AAAAHH-HHHAAHHH!!

I thought I saw it somewhere that Statcast was going to be in this years game. Never crossed my mind that it would involve an MLB Network presentation...

          Pretty cool!!

I have a hunch that maybe this year, they recorded booth lines together! My reason being back in December, Matt V took off a while to do work for the show, since there's mlbn presentation, I bet they had Matt and the two new guys recorde together in mlbn studios, just a guess.

Just started playing madden 17 and that was the first thing I noticed. The commentators having realistic dialogue with each other, doesn't sound scripted at all. Makes a huge difference IMO, really immersive.

If the commentary is improved, this will be the first time I'll be purchasing this game without regret. I always sold the game about a month in because it got stale fast. Played like the same game with new rosters! New models, new commentary, new physics just might be enough for me to actually enjoy a baseball game since MLB 07: The Show.

Well it did slip out that Harold Reynolds was recording lines for "a video game". If I remember correctly though, Matt was there during that time that Harold was recording. So I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. Funny thing is when it was mentioned neither Harold or Matt said anything and just ignored the comment. I'm pretty positive that Harold is one of the new commentators. If I were guessing I would say that the other new commentator is John Smoltz, just a gut feeling.

As far as commentary goes, I would just like for it to not sound like they are recording it at different times. It never had much fluidity with it.

I hope you're wrong, because it needs to be done together to make it really good. I know they worked hard with Matt to get more excitement out of him, and to sound more like his tv self, guess we'll hear some on March 2.

I agree, It definitely needs to be done together. However, if they start recording it differently the commentary will sound just as bad with them adding the newly recorded lines to the older lines.

This is why I think it would be so much easier to have a 2-man booth.
Maybe even have 2 sets of 2-man booths so as to have 4 commentary guys instead of 3.
