If i remember correctly, they said that will only affect online play.

Wow, that's a disappointment if true. Things like this should cover all game modes.

When a pitcher loses energy offline they proceed to get shelled. Online there was a significant bug/exploit where people would bring in a reliever in the 3rd inning and after they ran out of energy they would still pitch lights out like nothing is happening.

        It works offline just fine.

One area that REALLY needs to be changed regarding bullpen AI is the use of closers. They aren't used enough. The reason for this is they only seem to come in when it is a clear save situation. I don't know how many times I've played a series in franchise where I've never had to face some of the top closers in baseball. That rarely happens in real life. Managers find a way to get these guys an inning or two every few games.

The big situation that sticks out is when a home team is in a tie game late or in extra innings. The AI will not use its closer unless all other pitchers have been exhausted. The logic is waiting for a save situation that never comes because the home team is always batting last. In real life the home team uses its top closer in the top of the 9th of a tie game. It's a big area that needs to be fixed.

Because it works offline. It was a bug/exploit online.

I believe they said during the stream that it was in all modes, but it was nerfed so hard for online play that once a pitcher runs out of energy they will throw absolutely nothing but balls and meatballs.

Perhaps I am misremembering but I thought they fixed that last year. I think they said a closer won't go three games without playing regardless if save situation. Now whether it is working in situation you suggest I agree the closer doesn't seem to come in in clear save situations. But I am not sure if it is because the closer is too tired.

Maybe they had Buck Showalter assist with this part

After seeing the little things stream I’m pumped for this game, more pumped than I have been the past 2 years.

The light has improved again, making the game look fresh and new again.
The new fielding animations are very welcome, they make the game look more realistic.
Same goes for pitcher deliveries, again much improved.

Then for my most favorite improvement : the retro fielding cam.
It’s the one I have always wanted.

It is really more than I expected as I feared the focus would only be on DD, which I never play.

So, big thanks to SDS for making the game fresh again.
