    Guess pitch/location help

I use zone hitting and don't really understand the mechanic once you've correctly guessed location and pitch type. If I correctly guess fastball up, my cursor disappears and the upper part of the zone turns into a red triangle, but I'm not sure what to do at this point. Do I still attempt to move the analog stick in the direction the ball is coming in? Do I leave it centered and just time the swing?

Been playing for 3 years and figured it's time to ask for help

What I do is just guess location much better ever since they started doing both, where you had to get both right for it to flash. So now I just do location, like a real hitter looking for a spot, but don't guess pitch type, makes it very realistic!! I use old school timing, and sometimes left stick.
1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!

I know this isnt what youre looking for, but youll become a way better hitter shutting off guess pitch, it becomes a pretty serious crutch.

I rarely use it, mostly on 3-0 looking for FB up in the zone or vs sinkers down in the zone. The only problem is I'm not sure how to actually take advantage of it when I do get it right.

I have a friend who depends on it way to much, one time I turned it off without telling him and ended pitching a perfect game with max scherzer only throwing 59 pitches with 6 strikeouts

So does anyone know how the mechanic works with zone hitting? Still use the analog stick or just time your swing?

If you guess correctly the pitch type and location, you only have to swing as your PCI will automatically go to the position where the pitch will go. If you only hit one or the other (pitch type or location) then you'll need to move your PCI. Hopefully that made sense.

Your friend is like me. I swing at everything. I like guess pitch and will continue to use it..

Pure analog is the most realistic of the bunch. I don't see how anyone doesn't use it.

I do. I use it here, and all other games that have it. It's so realistic..

I understand there are alot of pick up/causal gamers and they like button mashing, thats cool and all but some of us want sorta like a sim baseball game too and thats were analog stride comes in . The year they messed around with it i couldn't even play a whole season cause pulling back was always a power swing and it was home run galore.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but pure analog isn't button mashing.

I think you misunderstood dude or i wasn't being clear..yes pure analog is the opposite of button mashing and meant for a more sim way of playing The Show.

If I could throw my own guess pitch question out here, any help would be appreciated.

I always use guess pitch/zone hitting. As I understand it if I guess correctly not only does my PCI lock onto location but I also receive some contact bonus. If I guess wrong I receive a contact penalty.

But what happens if I have my settings on guess pitch but don't guess every pitch of the at-bat? I'm assuming no bonus or penalty?

                              Hope I'm making sense here.

                              Thanks
