he does throw gas and it is a long shot buuuuttttt Jansen was a catcher before he became a closer for a team that spends $250M for division titles, so its possible he can become effective

He's never pitched in the minors. He pitched in a couple of MLB games last year when the Padres were getting blown out.

Hopefully they give him P as a secondary position. If so his player card will look like this:

C/1B/LF/RF/P

Isn't he seeing time at 3B as well? Thought I read that somewhere. The ultimate utility player.

Not that I'm aware of. From what I heard Andy Green say on the Jim Rome Show this past week was he will focus on pitching mostly then play behind the plate a few days a week then play the OF and 1B on occasion. When he pitches he'll play the OF on those days.

He pitched in the Panama Winter League this offseason and has pitched 2 scoreless innings so far in Spring Training.

Jordan Schafer had season ending elbow surgery, so he won't be included in the game's roster. I really hope we can edit pitcher's secondary positions so his CAP can have OF as his secondary position. Has anyone seen through streams or Twitter if they have answered on this yet?

Ramone specifically stated that this year their will be no players that can be both a position player and a pitcher.

Based on that Bethancourt will not be P eligible in this years game.

But he doesn't have to be eligible: simply use him to PH and don't change out the pitcher. Would be nice if he had ratings, though.

I thought what happens is the screen goes black and tells yo...forces you to sub in a pitcher. I think that happened to me recently with a PH.
