No they will not... Konami owns the rights to the WBC.

Nope. They don't have the license for the wbc. Many roster people do put the teams together as accurate as possible and put them on mlb teams with similar uniforms so you find those in the roster vault if anyone wants to use those teams though. But the actual teams with names and uniforms will not be in the show.

It would be a wonderful addition one day but I wouldn't count on it happening especially with the tournament being only every four years I doubt they bother dedicating much time to that ever.

Wonder if Sony has ever approached Konami about a partnership or collaboration? We would see the most epic baseball game one could ever imagine if that happened.

I find it interesting how sports leagues decide who gets licenses to something? Obviously money is the determining factor, but I feel like long term they hurt the brand by doing so.

          - NFL 2K Series was just as good, if not better than Madden...yet the NFL chose to give them exclusive license.
          - EA's MVP Series was better than MLB 2K series, and MLB chose to give them the exclusive license.
          - MLB The Show is the ONLY MLB game being produced with rights to MLB players (80%+ of the WBC Rosters are made up of MLB players) but someone thought it was a good idea to give WBC rights to Konami...who only makes Japanese League games????

Whoever makes these decisions at MLB and NFL are morons...

Long term it hurts....Some people hate Madden and everyone hated MLB 2K, it literally doesn't exist anymore.

Konami has largely given up on console games far as I can tell from all the news articles about it (aside from their soccer game). I don't even know if they'll make their Pro Yakyuu Spirits baseball game anymore, and then Jikkuou Powerful Pro Yakyuu was released last year (which I'm glad for since I've always loved the Power pro games), so I find it strange that they have the license yet they've done nothing with it far as I can tell. It slightly existed back in I think the JPPY 2011 game? And it was very slight, like just team Japan. So they have the license but don't do anything with it, so I'm hoping eventually the license deal however long it is is released from Konami and then SCEA can add it if they wanted.

Of course I don't know anything about licenses so I don't know if it's something permanent or not, all I know is that Konami hasn't used the WBC one in years. PYS 6 was the last one to fully use it I think. Someone correct me if im wrong.

NFL2K is no more strictly because of money. Madden has never been the same. They seem to not try as much because of no competition. It's a wonder, a great wonder, that the great people of MLB the Show can keep on making their game so good. Better and better.

SDS is a development team that cares more about their fanbase and the sport itself than the Madden team, clearly. The Madden guys do the bare minimum to keep people buying the game, SDS ups the ante every single year.
