The "ideal" dynasty length & sim amount

First and foremost, I know this is preference, but I'm always game to shoot around ideas to see what fellow Show lovers like to do.

My question: What is the ideal dynasty length & sim process to get the ultimate experience? One where you can feel immersed in the season, but also see off-season moves pan out over time.

Last year I ran a Cubs franchise & played every inning of every game. Even with QC's & fast play, this took me most of the season (waited till the final version of OSFM rosters came out), and I was left exhausted, not wanting to embark on another journey. So in Madden 17, I ran an 8 year franchise & by year 5, things started to get redundant, even though I hadn't won a Super Bowl. I quickly began to care less about the regular season & became focused on post season results.

This year I am considering a 3 year dynasty. Not sure with who, yet, but I'm leaning towards a middle of the pack team that is on the brink of playoffs or bust. What are some suggestions on how to play/sim this? I'm sure there are other members who are curious, but haven't asked!

If I were you, I would wait for what they say in the Franchise information packages coming next week.

from the looks of it, they are adding in different things to speed up the process of moving through multiple seasons.

so I think just waiting until all this info is released to formulate a strategy of how you want to go about season progression.

I have found over the past few years that I have a system to when I simulate games. My system is I sim after each loss until I win a sim game. I also sim until iitself after every 7 game win streak some times I do 10 depending on if I feel I have a good solid team or rebuilding solid being 10.

This is why the managing feature is huge for me. I'll probably play one game each series or one game against each team and manage the rest.

I've been playing 1 game every series. However, it bugs me if, for example, someone has a hitting steak, it can be broken without me even playing a game.
If I play every game it will take me forever to get through a season.
I want to play every game but don't have a lot of time to do so. I'm very interested in the new features they're going to reveal soon.
I recently started a 29 game Season mode with 6 inning games. It's fun and fast-paced but incomparable to a 9 inning game and 162 game season. (The AL MVP had a .500 avg, 2 RBIs and only played 6 games.)

Really don't need another how do you play franchise thread.
