Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
The first thing I always do is look through the rosters. I just like to check out the new players in the game and look at some face scans and new batting stances/pitching motions.
After that I usually play as the O's at Camden Yards in a night game against the Yanks or Jays, but this year I might just play with a different team (not sure who). I'm starting to think about playing in the Braves new stadium but who knows.
Checking rosters and then playing an Exhibition game are definitely going to be the two things I do at midnight when it releases though.Comment

Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
I'm torn between doing a franchise with the Nationals or Braves and really curious if the Braves new park will be the deciding factor. So right when I turn the game on at midnight I'll do an exhibition between Nats and Braves at SunTrust Park and hopefully find my answer..Comment

Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
Starting from the beginning, I will test manage mode till OSFM roster comes out and start my one and only Indians manage franchise. I'll also do a RTTS 1B of me with Jim Thome type player.

Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
one of my favorite things to do is watch the new introduction clip they make every year, featuring some of the best calls from last years season.
Cant wait to hear some awesome Chicago calls....especially now that the Cubbies broke the curse.
Then head into manage rosters area and check Cubs and other teams for face scans/new player portraits.
After that, it's off to exhibition game to feel the game out. Then usually start RTTS and play that until OSFM comes out.Comment

Look at the METS ratings, then proceed to waste the next few hours doing it with the rest of the league. Duh!METS. NY FOOTBALL GIANTS. PENGUINS. HURRICANE FOOTBALL. LEBRON.

Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
Definitely probably gonna spend the first 3 hours making a character that looks like me so I'll have someone to put into franchise and then fail horribly at remaking said 3 hour character into RTTS. Im debating whether or not I should do what everyone is doing and hold out till OSFM rosters are out. Maybe play a little retro mode. Screw around with franchise and make everyone max skill and see what happens, try to get farther on conquest mode than I did last time.

Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
1) Inspect the rosters for every team to see who is in the game and who isn't.
2) Then carry over a saved Franchise file from MLB 16 and export/import the missing players into a MLB 17 roster.
3) If time permits before it is time to go to bed, play an exhibition game to check out the new game play.Last edited by My993C2; 03-07-2017, 01:41 AM.Comment

Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
This had better be a joke because I can promise you this will eclipse the famous 2012 I think the great one with the great night of last day of baseball... montage...
this has to include the cubs in every freaking way.. from start of the season to the end... some sort of montage to that effect... this intro is going to be EPIC!! to skip it... would be ... well, a crime IMO as a baseball fan...
well, i hope it will be epic.... we have the history here just like back in 12' or was it 13 can't remember.. but if I know the baseball hearts of this dev team... this will be one for the ages..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: First thing you'll do on 17?
If there are real and meaningful Owner mode/franchise additions, I'll create a "mess around" franchise with the Cubs and see what all the new bells and whistles are and how things work.
After I'm done with that, then the real work starts.
I'll open up the Cubs roster, and go through every player to adjust their contract so that its as close to real life as possible. Then, go through the rest of the NL and do the same, followed by the AL. Last year, the first time that I did this, it took me about 5-6 hours, spread over two nights. However, I developed a system after a while, and the second time that I did it (after the OS rosters were released), it took me about half that time.
Then, I'll adjust a large percentage of the Cubs minor league system to match real life names and positions, and roughly match up the best 25 or so to their real life looks and abilities.
THEN, I'll start my real Cubs franchise, sim through Spring Training, and play my first game as opening day of the season.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment
