PS4 (standard) MLB 17 frame rate

Has anything been mentioned in the build up regarding addressing frame rate issues that plagued MLB 16?

Or do we have to buy the PS4 pro to get a FR drop free game?

I too am curious about this. If previous years are any indicator, SDS doesn't directly address frame rate questions, at least as they pertain to the original PS4 console. My hunch is that it will be roughly the same as 16 on Standard but vastly improved on the Pro, but we'll see.

I know I've said this before, but if it's a solid 60fps on Pro then I'm more than likely buying a new console. The Show is worth it to me.

It's not worth it for me personally. I love the game and get a lot of play out of it but I can't justify basically buying a game for £300. If the FR is poor like last year I doubt I'll buy it at all tbh.

Will have to wait and see how bad it is. Ruins the experience for me.

I don't see it in gameplay very often, it's more the cutscenes involving the crowd and the relief pitcher entrance in particular. So yeah, it's mostly aesthetics but it's pretty jarring when the frame rate takes a huge hit.

I have the pro and currently I'm still seeing it, rumor has it that firmware 4.5 is being released today and plan on testing boost with the show to see if it removes those frame drops from 16

The most recent IGN video was captured at 60 fps and the frame rate looks very much improved. I still detect judder and some stuttering during heavy crowd shots.

I've never noticed any framerate drops that would affect, say, game play. I have noticed them on cutscenes but nothing that I would say was game breaking.

Had to stop using fisheye because the framerates were so bad, especially in closed roof stadiums. I hope that it's improved for 17 because I really liked fisheye while defending.

What camera did you use for those stadiums then? As far as I could tell the framerate didn't really get any better in those stadiums if I switched cameras, so was it just because it was easier to perceive the ball's path on certain cameras (even despite the low framerate)?

I've noticed slowdown while playing of course but it's never been more than a matter of aesthetics for me and it doesn't slow to a crawl like some other games I've played either. I can't see upgrading to Pro over the issue personally.

Framerate is definitely something that matters more to some people than others. Just look at the Zelda "docked FPS drops" situation, some people feel the game is buttery smooth docked, others noticed the frame dips immediately.

I grew up a PC gamer and I am kind of snobby about all things graphics/performance related. I guess that I also tend to notice it more with a game like this as the camera transitions to different views more so than other sports games.

so gaming wise theres no point to go for 120 or 240?

The human eye can't track images that quickly!

Well, I mean if you have a nice gaming monitor with 120/144hz refresh rate for your PC gaming you definitely can go for higher FPS than 60, but I think consoles are maxed out at 60fps due to HDMI bandwidth or something like that. For a long time TVs were built with 60hz refresh rates.
