This. And the forum has been infinitely better because of it.

I'm glad the forum is getting better, Mill. I can't imagine how difficult it can get for you and the mods, like Kehls and co., to manage it all. Honestly wanted to be a mod for awhile, until I saw the worst of what some of y'all go through when the stuff hits the fan.

I think part of it is also is Ramone verifying what Mill said in the OP: The Show team is a small team with an even smaller number of programmers. SCEA is as disclosed as a dev can be (which is truly phenomenal and appreciative by itself) which allows most of us to empathize and understand the challenges and subsequent decisions they face relative to the expectations we have.

Millennium, great call three days ago. Hopefully, we all will learn to be constructive in our concerns/criticisms ... and I love the almost daily update reports. Just finished watching your breakdown of the Twitch Franchise stream. I thought it was your best one yet. Also, nice to put a face with a name. Feel sorry about your Orioles this year

As a long time baseball fan and gamer, MLB the Show has been scratching that video game baseball itch for me for years since MVP Baseball 05'. I bought PS4 over XBONE at launch just for the Show. Entering "next gen", the game has been quite stellar. I do have to say the game, outside of upgraded graphics and some physics things, hasn't quite jumped to that next level we know it's capable of. Commentary is stale, many uniforms are wrong, and colors look often washed out. By coddling devs and muting criticisms, you are giving SDS the green light to keep putting out Show games with mild improvements, while collecting our 50-70 dollars every year. Let's be honest, most things that are in the game or improved this year should have been done 2 years ago, not 3 years ago of course, they were under much stricter time constraints. That said, I will be buying the game this year, as release day is like second Christmas to me.

I'm just a lurker but I can't understand why people can't just be happy for having something that you can truly enjoy for a year and is a wonderful product and you only are paying 60 bucks for..I mean I can't even go to 2 movies a year for that price. The Show is amazing year in year out and you make the experience with your own imagination and enjoyment...Appreciate the devs and thank them for everything, and for giving me my favorite game to play yearly.

I use to be a frequent poster back in the day. But now I just pop in, check the new vids and blogs from the development team "which is greatly appreciated" and I log off. I use to pan through countless pages of comments for hours but now it's the same thing page after page; constant gripping, unrealistic expectations, ridiculous request and down right embarrassing behavior. It practically ruined my MLB The Show experience the past couple years. But I'm not allowing it to do so this year. I get my news/vids, and count the days until release..S/O to the dev team, looking forward to the 28th guys

This is part of the problem. You and the mods are not handling the problem. I lurked for years for a reason, and I will be retreating back into that, so no worries.

Granted, I fully understand hateful speech towards the dev's can't and shouldn't be tolerated. Ever.

But for the most part you guys aren't doing that. You're trying to control 'Thought' and that's a completely different thing. Mill gets a pass, because he needs content for his videos. But all this does is protect the same 10 posters with 5,000+ posts that come on the board 5 hours a day to complain about Quick Manage and no stats in Franchise.

It's done. A dead horse. And yet these same posters (ironically) are the exact same ones that liked your post. Of course they did. It protects them.

They are allowed to complain, yes, but they are NOT allowed to drown out the voices of those who LOVE the game and are not being allowed to express that opinion.

Right now, it only works, because the same 10 people are all agreeing on the same 10 posts in the same way, and then assuring each other they are all right. What amazes me is that SDS listens to them. For example, years they complained about no closed roofs. SDS added closed roofs... one week... one week... they congratulated them... next week -- back to the same complaints. I just don't dig it, and I don't think it's very becoming of this board to bring in new posters such as myself. In fairness, The Show Nation isn't much better.

Don't sway too far to the left, don't sway too far from the right. That gets you drowned out or banned. But agree with the same group of people 17 pages a night, and you get to stay and be beloved.

This problem isn't going away. No matter how many people get banned. This has existed for years and is going to be the same problem next year, and the year after that. The status quo is the problem here.

I completely and wholeheartedly agree with this.

I'm gonna retreat back into obscurity, and look forward to the 28th, and love playing The Show 17 this year! Congrats to the dev's, thanks for the new jerseys, and thanks for all the hard work.

I take exception to the idea we have some sort of agenda here. We try to keep the boards civil as best we can, and we are definitely not trying to control anyone's thoughts.

What mods do is try to make sure the TOS is followed. A forum with nothing but agreement would not be a very engaging forum. We just ask that people debate ideas and not attack people, as well as avoid agenda posting. I don't think that's thought control.

I would very much like to respectfully respond but I'm not entirely sure I understand so I'm going to ask a few qualifying questions to make sure I understand what you are saying because you saying the moderation here is the problem leaves me unnerved and concerned.

You said the problem is that we (mods) are not addressing the "problem." Without dancing around the topic like in the above post can you spell out for me what "the problem" is? Are you saying too much negativity is allowed?

If so that would be a first (from what I've heard at least) but that's okay.

Am I correct in what you are saying the problem is?

Also, just want to give you the heads up that the moderation team is here to enforce the TOS, we aren't here to be the arbiter or judge to what is or isn't too much criticism or praise.

As I said in a previous post, trolling is trolling. Whether it be trolling a dev or another user. It doesn't change.

Criticism of a game IS allowed as long as it's done the right way.

Again though, these are all qualifiers to make sure I understand you because your post was intentionally vague. If you wouldn't mind being a little more direct I would be happy to respond directly but as an FYI it won't be until later tonight as I have a function to go to for a couple hours this evening.

"The status quo". You have absolutley no idea what you're talking about.

I've had personal conversations with the "same 10 posters" you are talking about regarding not attacking creative though in the form of criticism on these boards. In the very first post of this thread I stated that this covers both sides of the coin.

And don't you dare even start with the "Mill gets a pass becuase he needs content for his videos" insinuating that I'm biased in anyway in an attempt to get content. I work my *** off for the video I do without being given a single thing. I criticize (maybe you should try watching the videos instead of just realizing I make them) what I believe needs to be criticized, and so it is fully know I get NOTHING for it. I'm not paid, and I'm not compensated. I'm doing all of this because I love sports gaming and love showing people what they are getting themselves into with their purchases.

If you can't be constructive and feel like you can't have an outlet, then show yourself off the site becuase your slanted views and agenda aren't welcome. You want to stand up and try researching your issues before attempting to be the martyr that so many before you have tried and failed at, then I'm waiting.

I think the underlying thought here is that as long as you use tact, you can always have a thoughtful discussion no matter which side of the fence you're on. The issue seems to be when people are too passionate about a specific topic and fail to use tact. If your argument is legit and constructive, you're good. Pretty much how I've always seen it here.

Agreed. And having tact isn't exactly on display by crusading against the moderators on the same day one returns from a temporary ban. I bet the stats on people who are banned, allowed to come back, and then get banned again is >90%. Some people are just wired in a way that makes them want to toe the line or cross it repeatedly.

Mill I think people would be kinda shocked to know how go about getting all the content you talk about in your MLB stream breakdowns. And I will admit it's an amazing feat for you to get the content as well as develop your opinions on it and be ready to go right after the stream ends (within 2-3 minutes). Then you go and breakdown the content for on average of an hour plus another 15-20 Q&A after the Youtube Breakdown ends.

And for that I applaud your hard work and dedication.
