But I was thinking this year, what if I use a fresh roster file with all the offseason roster moves and all the prospects from OSFM '16 and transfer that to '17. This way I could use that and get started right out the gate. But it raises a couple questions that I dont know about because I've never done anything with year-to-year saves. If anyone knows the answers from experience I'd appreciate some insight.
What are the downsides of this idea? Bear in mind my goal is to simply have a realistic roster set with all of the prospects OSFM added for the '16 iteration.
What will happen if a guy like Alex Bergman was a created player last year added by OSFM and now the devs have the real Alex Bregman in the '17 edition? Will the created Bregman be in the game because of the 16' save file? Or will it automatically replace the 'fake' Bregman with the real '17 Bregman?
Do all of these 'created players' from last year get all the new updates from the '17 release, despite not being in the game last year and added midseason? Guys like Moncada, Giolito, Benintendi, etc. Guys that now have MLB service time and will be in the game from the jump but weren't last year. Generally, all guys in from the beginning have more content for the commentators and they say their name and stuff like that. As opposed to, guys who are added midseason are treated like rookies and if their name isn't in the database, they're essentially just referred to as their jersey number.
Hopefully, I explained that properly. My biggest inquiry is if I use the '16 save file, will I get all the benefits of the new guys added to the game fresh for this year, or will I just be using the same CAPS from last year.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
