Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - What's New in Road to The Show (IGN)
Now whenever Joe faces that team in his career he will have some extra motivation.
I'd like to see more drama like this when facing the opposing players to help give those batter/pitcher matchups a little more meaning.
I'm trying to find a good example but maybe imagine as a pitcher you serve one up to Bryce Harper and he gives you a stare down while running around the bases. You have that registered in your memory till the next time you two meet.Comment

Narrator gives off a solid Ron Howard Arrested Development vibe.
*player refuses to sign, goes back to school*
'“Buster so excelled at being neither seen, nor heard, that he remained at the school, undetected for a full two semesters after he was supposed to graduate.”
*forced to sign as undrafted free agent for $5K*Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment

I love this! I just really hope we get some info on how this will work with existing RTTS careers on Thursday.Comment

Pictures on player cards haven't been updated for years...I'm pretty sure that picture of Descalso is the same one he had in MLB11.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - What's New in Road to The Show (IGN)
I wonder how many cutscenes and choice selections we'll get as we progress further and further into our careers.
It makes sense that there's a lot in the beginning as a minor leaguer trying to make it to the the bigs, but I wonder how much we'll see when we're 27 or something and a perennial all star.
I also wonder what these choices will look like for a pitcher. What differences will there be (if any) between a position player and a pitcher in terms various non-linear trajectories based on your choices?
All in all, I'm excited for some new life being brought to RTTS! Can't wait to see what's in store!Comment

For a pitcher maybe being asked to move from the starting rotation to the bullpen or vice versa.

I planned on making a SP in RTTS in '17 but as many of you asked, I don't know how much of a PYP a SP can have. Especially if they're pitching well. It'd be unlikely to ask them to move to the bullpen if they are having success in the rotation.

Was worried with the RPG aspect to RTTS it would be like NBA where our "path" is already paved for us. I should know by now to trust the guys at Sony, good to see we are really able to pave our own path. That conversation with the Angels was hilariousComment

Jokes aside, it'll be interesting to try all different options out, I'll mostly do all the good options but I wanna see what'll happen in some situations with the "bad" ones.
I'm definitely excited to see pave your path expanded on in future iterations. Maybe give us a rival in the future. Like as a pitcher we have a hitter we face off against, and pitcher when we're a hitter, and we can be cool to each other, friendly rivals or I wanna beat this guy down kind of rivals based on how we the player respond.R.I.P.
