The hitching when practice swinging drives me bonkers.

I really wish the would have missions or goals for modes like Play Now, and Online Rated H2H. There is no incentive to playing these modes. It just seems like everything is focuses on Diamond Dynasty.

Better yet, add season/divisions/tournament a la Fifa style.

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions

Ok first and foremost, the intro to MLB '17 The Show is simply amazing! Easily the best intro to any video game that I have played. If that intro doesn't play on your admiration and love for baseball, then I'm not sure anything ever will.

Ball physics is definitely a game changer. I found myself struggling in the field for the first inning or two as I was taking poor routes/angles to the ball as it was slicing away from me. Nothing better than seeing a frozen rope curve down the line, hit the chalk, and then roll into the corner.

Presentation is better this year. I'm not sure what it is but the delivery of Dan and Harold really add to the commentary.

The game on the field while playing just feels so smooth and organic. I'm not really sure how else to describe it. The Show has always been great, but this year its just better. It just feels "right".

One funny thing I saw during one of my games was I struck out Giancarlo Stanton on a change up. When the game replayed the strikeout and gave analytics, it showed that the change up Carlos Martinez threw broke 755 inches! For those not quick at math like me, that's nearly 63 feet of movement!!! No wonder Stanton missed it!

All in all, once again SDS delivered a masterpiece. Every year I wonder how the dev team will improve on the current installment. And every year SDS tells me how they are going to improve and then deliver.

        Outstanding job guys!

Only played 2 games so far. More as soon as I get some stuff done today.
1st as some have said... The Intro? Chills!

I knew I was in for a treat when during those couple games I had already seen ball physics that were really awesome.

You know it's different when a ball is hit and you think (due to past games) that's an out... then you realize it's dropping.

Can't wait to get in depth with it.

Eye popping is all I can say. Is this a new game?

Something that grabbed me.....did they work on the checked swings??? They look so good. The game play.....well, it appears flawless. Fielding animations are a big jump. Like new. Commentary is better, although Matt has hung around too long.

One thing about create-a-player. Some of the hair choices? I dunno. They need a little work, but the faces are a definite jump and when you create a face (if you're good at it), they definitely belong in the game.

Perhaps next year when you go to the edit player screen for your team it will include the editable coaches as not much love was given to the choices you have if you fire a coach and want to replace him with one of the stock coaches created by SDS.

I'm not sure how jaggies are appearing and stuttering as mine is playing flawlessly on my t.v. Game is gorgeous.

The game is just awesome. I can't play it enough.

I do wish that we had an option to toggle the slow-mo tags on steals. Also, I felt like there was a little more emotion from players after big hits in 16 than this year.

              This game is crack!!

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions

I agree with the post before mine, the intro to 17 is absolutely the best yet. The nostalgic opening is a great tribute to some of the big moments in MLB.

As for the game, i only played one exhibition last night, no tweaked sliders, and the game felt great. I too feel like there is a certain fluidness to the game that just makes it feel really natural. The ball physics is another great touch of realism as is the throwing animations when a player is not rushed and goes through his routine before making the throw.

All in all, I can't wait for the weekend to dive into it even more. After one game, i am impressed!

Continued my path to ten games last night with an opening day matchup between the Pirates and Red Sox, Cole v Porcello.

Pirates beat me 5-1 with Cole really keeping the Sox hitters out of sorts.

                  Impressions**

If you really want to see the graphics shine, play a 1pm game with Overcast skies. Holy mackerel. The sky just on the brink of rain, and the stadium lights on... just gorgeous.

No stutters or hiccups for me. Smooth like Weller 12 Year old.

My Power Slider seems to have tempered the colossal homeruns, but obviously more testing needed when I am not facing/pitching the aces of the staff.

Great animations in the infield, and I LOVE the emotions, fist pumps, and human-ness of the virtual guys.

I watched a Twitch stream yesterday, and Chris Tiillman gave up a bomb, and he immediately started swearing/screaming into his glove he was covering his face with. Very nicely done.

I really wish I could not say I LOVE the slo-mo presentation on the stealing outcomes.... but I love it. It looks cool as hell, and even if it is a little Triple Play 95 esque... It looks awesome.

Still wondering if something can be done to the umpire reviews, so that the outcome can wait to be shown on the screen until after the umpires signal the decision? A small request, but it would add authenticity.

The spin on the ball is really impressive, and adds to the drama. Homeruns actually curve around Pesky Pole this year. Plus, I love how the ball will tail away from outfielders, requiring you to get a great jump, as well as taking an efficient route to the ball.

That being said, with the ball spin now actually playing a part in the physics, you'll need to be careful taking a direct route to balls hit hard.. you'll miss them, especially with fielder speed turned down. Faster outfielders can get away with a small mistake, but slower guys better err on the side of caution. Hey, just like real life.!

Pitch counts are more realistically done, and if you are selective, you can get the opposing pitcher to rack up his pitch count. I shoot for getting the SP to throw at least 12-15 an inning if I can. Anything less than 10, I feel I have let him off the hook.

More testing to follow, but so far, this is the a whole lot of fun.

It is much easier to draw walks this year (HOF difficulty) to me compared to any previous year. I did a Boston and Orioles match up and got Bundy to give up 2 bases loaded walks 4 in total in his three innings pitched.

                        I agree 100%.

In my last game against the Marlins I was able to draw 5 walks! That's a record for me!

A few others have reported to seeing an increase in homeruns but as for myself, I have not.

I played a two spring training games last night and had a total of 2 homeruns hit in those games. One HR per game.

I played on default HOF for both pitching and hitting for what its worth.

Like I said, I'm on allstar and I have struggle with HR in the past, I don't know, maybe I'm better this year, but Country I have been belting some awesome HR, I mean moonshots lol.

Its been a great feeling, I just don't wanna hit 3 to 4 a game, I know I cn always go up to HOF, but I know I'm not that good for that.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems like I'm hitting at least 2 a game and serving up just as many.

Also seems like the CPU swings way to earlier on a bunch of pitches.
