MLB The Show 17 Impressions only.

Borderline ridiculous with what RR & crew over at SCEA have done with MLB The Show 17. Just when you think it can get better but not by much and these guys provides this years gem. Unreal!!!

Can't speak for regular PS4 and non 4K tv owners but if you don't have both then hightail your butts over and get it if it's within your budgets.

Game looks and plays F'n awesome!!! NBA 2K17 is officially 2nd again.

Thanks to Sony San Diego Studios for making the best baseball game ever developed. Also to entire OS community. What great thing hasn't been mentioned yet? I'll start my saying I'm currently playing on regular PS4 and a 55" Samsung KU6300. No HDR for me but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying the visuals. The game looks and feels amazing and jump from 16 to 17 is a galaxy away.

The thing that feels the best is playing the outfield this yr since the players have weight to them. Hitting also feels a lot more organic and hit types are what has been advertised.

Regarding the lighting I'm seeing shadows and sun light appearing in real time which is phenomenal.

My favorite addition to the game is the new player models. There's a difference in body types for all players. Cubs fans will go nuts seeing how accurate all their players look. My favorite players to play so far are Dansby Swanson, Billy Hamilton and Alex Bregman. But overall I feel all 30 teams received same type of work in terms of faces and bodies. Again this makes game look so realistic and something I wanted added for yrs.

I simply can't wait for OSFM this yr and start season.

Sorry I have not been posting many impressions, but I have been playing and answering as many PM's as I could.

This game is honestly the best its ever been for me.

From gameplay, to graphics, to commentary, to ball physics, to ball parks it is all just simply amazing.

I probably could go on for pages it is just that good. Everything I have wanted fixed is fixed. Even stuff I did not know I wanted fixed has been fixed. With the new booth it is just a brand new game for me.

Very simply this is Baseball at its finest. I don't know what else to really say without seeming like a gushing fan boy. This game is no longer "showing its age" in my opinion it is firmly on top of the pack once again. (For me it always was, but I understand why some felt differently)

My sentiments as well. My only little request is for them to make Player Quirks a OSD in between at bats every now and then. Because it's so new, I sometimes forget they are there for scouting. Left on the D-Pad is also cool.

Every year, MLB The Show never seems to disappoint ! From gameplay, to the graphics, and the new ball physics, it all gets an A+ from me. Retro Mode actually has take up most of my time since I started playing the game. It seems like it will be very simple with the one button feature, but it actually takes some getting used to. My favorite mode of the game so far. The new MLB Network Presentation looks great as well with new the members in the commentary booth. RTTS new storyline format is pretty fun as well. You get the chance to skip playing the Scouting games and just go straight into the draft, which I like a lot. You always wonder what else they can do to make the game better and the developers leave you mind blown every year.

Batter walkup music from SOTS isn't working very well in Road to the Show. 3 straight at-bats where my music didn't play.

I was mistaken with this. It is not broken. My player had 2 music slots with deleted files from 16. That is why the music wasn't playing every at-bat.

Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac are such a breath of fresh air this year. Harold's commentary is great.

Also, when you do hit a home run it shows what homer of the year it is for you on the OSD as you round the bases.

Commentary is wonderful this year. Gave up a three run home run to tie the game in the 9th and vasgersian had a ton of emotion and excitement. It really brought a lot to that moment.

HR celebrations you can add to your created player don't seem to be working. I added Bryce Harper's to my RTTS player and the past few homers I have hit he hasn't done it.

Harold Reynolds is great and has a ton of information. My favorite thing so far though is the ball path of a solid line drive. The ball curves away from the fielder and just looks so real. Love this game! Back to playing some more now.

Finding pure analog pitching to be a bit too easy to locate pitches even on legend difficulty as it was in 16 . Was hoping it would be a bit more challenging as the control scheme is my fav. Hopefully they can tune difficulty with a patch
