Found this on Reddit. Go to your library and search for MLB the Show and when it pops up click on it. It should give you the option to download. It worked for me this way

You can also go to the psn store on your computer or ps app and download it to your PS4 as well.

Edit: Provided that it is in rest mode.

That is also how I kicked mine off yesterday morning.

1. Go to the PSN Store on the computer and sign in.
2. Under the drop down menu for your name choose download list
3. Find The Show 17 and choose download.

Obviuosly make sure your PS4 is at least in standby mode.

FYI I purchased a PSN code from Amazon last night and it worked right away with no issues. I know some people were having issues with it previously.

Also for some reason the 6GB and 41 GB file BOTH downloaded at the same time, which was really annoying because it makes the download slower and bandwidth, it never used to do this but whatever the last System software update was started this with the bar next to it. I HATE the changes in notifications they had done

The "6GB" which is actually 8GB is part of the overall install. So you aren't downloading two different things at the same time there.

I just preordered via the PSN app on my iPhone and tried to download the game to my PS4 from the app since I am at work. When I first clicked downloard, it said in Download Queue, so I closed the app and reopened it about 20 mins later to see the status. Now it says "Playable"... Does that mean it completed the download? I'm asking because the last time I preordered a digital copy, it took almost the entire day to download.

No, it means the first 6 GB or so downloaded and it would, in theory let you play an exhibition game between Cubs and Indians. It will still need to download the other 35 GB to make the game "whole". You're on your way tho.

Ok thanks for the reply! I just want to make sure its downloading. It sucks the app doesn't show you the % downloaded or the remaining time.

There have been several methods described of manually kicking off the install in the two previous pages in this thread. Did you not check those?

I'm assuming there's not going to be a "day one" patch released at the same time is there? It would suck to have to wait for that to download first.

There are actually 2 day 1 patches but the devs said that they should download as part of the preload so you should not need to wait on them.

Probably not. I say that because digital version patches get rolled into the full install of their games. So, when we preloaded, that would likely have included whatever pre-release patches the physical copies had to download.

In the unlikely event that it doesn't, you can still start the game without updating (you should be prompted for that upon starting the game if that's the case). You just wouldn't be able to play online until it updates.
