Yeah, the Griffey card is basically going to be unreachable for the overwhelming majority of the players of the game. I'd like to hear the stats next year on just how many people acheive it.

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
I was watching a youtube video game news video about the company that made for honor... they said that this game would take over 450 hours of gameplay to be able to platinum all of it.
guys they stated in the very first twitch feed that this game was going to keep you grinding for MONTHS... be happy for that... most games nowadays are putting out games that take the average gamer what... less than a day to finish... come on.. be glad they made these missions "near to impossible.."
if I was a grinder in this game which I am most certainly NOT... LOL... I would be grateful to them for making all this content for me to hunt and capture and trophy...
so on behalf of the grinders of this game... or any game... that gladly will accept every challenge with pride and passion... i say thank you to SDS... you did them a great favor...Comment

That's kind of the point of the Diamond Programs.Comment

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
I realize that which and am not upset about it at all. I don't feel entitled to any card and I realize that the best cards will require a level of dedication to get them.
I'd still love to hear in next years streams what percentage of players actually complete it. Those folks will have truly earned it!Comment

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
Just wait until people are 3-3 with a hr and get spite walked the rest of the game, or have 7 hr in 7 BR games and then get 1st inning quit on in the 8th game. That's gonna really be a ton of fun.Comment

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
I might hold off on my preorder and see if the Griffey is attainable through the Market. The Jr stuff is 80% of the reason I'm picking the game up at launch. If the Program Griffey is near impossible to get, that takes a lot of the excitement out of the game for me.Comment

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
I'm glad cards like this are going to be really tough to get, I felt like a lot of big cards were way to easy to get last year and everyone ended up with the same team because of it. No more grinding vs the yetis no more grinding with a friend, people have to actually go out and earn these awesome players.Psn: DiehardDetroitComment

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
I'm fine with most of what those missions ask you to do. Forcing you to play BR is a little annoying but I guess if there's no buy-in this year than it's ok.
Is the 8 HR in 8 games in general or specifically with a Griffey card? Because that's just dumb if it's with the Griffey card since you'd have to get lucky enough to draft him in the first place.

It's hard and only a small fraction of people will be able to achieve it................that's kinduv the point.Comment

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
Ehhh there's legitimate hard and then there's "cheap hard" which includes a large luck factor. This seems to include a good chunk of cheap hard which kinda lazy and not well thought out.

And even the archer one (throw a cg shut out or 2 hitter (presumably with archer) in a season game) could be absurd. Do quits count? How about 3 innings games?Comment

I dunno, just going off what someone said previously in this thread.

Re: So, the Griffey Program Looks Impossible
Agreed. Take the program without the BR and 4 hits missions and it is still extremely hard and something most wont finish and will take forever for those that do. Include those 2 and you have to rely a ton on your opponent and pure luck. Replacing those with something like hit 10 home runs with all star Griffey in season games and hit 20 home runs in BR games makes it reasonable and still challenging (but without the extreme luck/opponent factor).

Right, if they did something to address the large number of quits then it could balance it out. If not, well then it's gonna suck haha
