Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Hey All,
Rays Franchise here. I am 4 games back from the Wildcard with a month to go. Depending on how things go, I am thinking of selling Alex Cobb or Jake Odorizzi if I don't think I can pass the 6 teams in front of me.
Alex Cobb is currently 7-3, 2.46 ERA, and a 1.5 WAR
Jake Ordorizzi is 4-6 4.36 ERA, and a 0.5 WAR.
Contending Teams:
Cubs, Dodgers, Dbacks, Giants, Mets, Nats, BlueJays, Redsox, Rangers, Astros.
Rays have quality pitching depth, so I am looking to get a prospect / younger mlb ready player in the field.
First time posting let me know if you need more information. I have seen what I can get fro the Cubs IE Baez, but I wonder if there is anything else out there? Thanks!Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm going to approach this from a different angle. While prospect swaps will rarely happen on occasion, you are correct in that a straight up prospect swap is not something that is done at face value (either each of them are broken or have busted to some point). Your value is pretty good and though I would give an edge to Barreto today, Garrett has a higher ceiling if each were to stay healthy. But my issue here is need. You stated that each player would help the other team but I would challenge that in saying...
N.Senzel and A.Rodriguez are the future left side for CIN. Until they get there, Suarez, Perez, Herrea and Gennett will hold things down with Perez and Suarez being more than just stop gaps.
Menana and Cotton are the future of the rotation in OAK. They also have Puk and Holmes progressing in development and one of Gossett/Jefferies/Shore* likely to stick (Shore is your starter here, the other two should be destined for the bullpen).
So what I'm saying here is that, in my mind, you gave away what each team needs the most. CIN needs pitching and OAK needs athletes."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Playing with OSFM 1.0 Rodriguez isnt in my game. Im at beginning of 2019 now. Made trade in 2018 off-season. Gennett is somewhere else (didnt resign), Peraza is starting at second. Senzel is starting at third and Suarez is on the bench while Barreto is starting.I'm going to approach this from a different angle. As for Oakland, I traded Montas and Cotton to Cubs for Schwarber (coming off another season ending injury). Their rotation right now is Sonny, Manaea, Mengden, Graveman and Garret. Puk/Holmes will be called up late in year and given an opportunity to start while Graveman and Mengden go to bullpen. Gossett hasnt progressed very well in mine.Last edited by kenp86; 06-09-2017, 10:49 AM.Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
How are the Astros pitchers doing? We've done a trade between HOU and TB for Odorrizi before so we could use that as a template. The big hangs up will be Odorizzi's ERA and how the HOU pitchers are performing. If you can get Odorizzi down to a mid 3 in ERA by the deadline, you could hit HOU up for: Brady Rodgers, Teoscar Hernandez and Franklin Perez.Hey All,

Edit: Just realized you're looking for a position player as a headliner. Teoscar Hernandez is really the only "MLB Ready" position guy I could see you getting from Houston. Given your outfielders, he won't be anything but a 4th OF for you for a while. Was Baez for Odorizzi or Cobb?Last edited by MrSerendipity; 06-09-2017, 10:53 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
What are the Brewers going to do with Villar? You are correct that the offer is too much (no need to involve Brinson) but I suppose something can be worked around Broxton and maybe L.Ortiz which gets you a top 50'ish' arm and a young MLB OF.Whats up family! I know I have been MIA lately when I am usually active on this thread but I have been grinding out some Diamond Dynasty the past 2 weeks. But last night I got back to my Twins chise and the Brewers offered me an interesting trade for Brian Dozer that had me thinking really hard. They offered me Brinson, Broxton and Hernan Perez. I honestly think this could be too much but the Brewers are 20-9 and seem to want to contend right off the bat. I was thinking possibly just two of the three since I may call up Nick Gordon and Move Polanco to 2B.
Lets narrow your shopping list. IF/OF RH/LH? Tell us what you're looking for (other than a ball player) and it will help narrow the list. I can help with the teams as we can remove TOR and BOS. For giggles, we can say A.Cobb may move to TEX, HOU or CHC. Look at those 3 teams and match up your need/want. Cobb is a good rental so a package could be headlined by a mid B prosepect with a high C arm added in. I don't think Baez fits with either Cobb or Odorizzi.Hey All,

Yeah, I can't imagine Chicago parting with Baez for either of those guys. Maybe something around Happ could be built but if it's for Odorizzi, it's not going to be a very impressive package.Lets narrow your shopping list. IF/OF RH/LH? Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
The thing is I am okay with both IF/OF. If I can flip Odorizzi for Happ then I would like to send out Cobb for a OF. I need 1B help but the Rays has two prospects that can man the 1B. I know one is currently an outfielder but I have seen online he can play 1b (Bauers?).

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Happ can play outfield too. I have Gillespie at first and Bauers in OF for me on one of my teams. Going to be crowded for you with the likes of Rasmus/Souza/KK/Bauers/Happ in outfield and Happ/Miller/Adames/Robertson/Longoria on the infieldThe thing is I am okay with both IF/OF. You think Broxton and Ortiz is enough for Dozier?

No. This is terrible for both. The money doesn't match up, the contract lengths don't match and I'll say it till I go blue in the face, Hosmer isn't very good

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah that is my struggle. Do I just keep my pitching? Flip them for younger pitching? Rays have a nice base but trying to figure out what is best.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Also have Mallex Smith in the outfield mix too lol id look at the pitching prospects and catcher prospects. Maybe someone can put together a package for you that so you could grab Carson Kelly from St.Louis?Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment
