Also, I'll concede the injury time as the poster most likely started his franchise prior to that. I assumed both Rosario/Smith were up as it's time for them but with the CPU managing, it is a total crap shoot.

I would ask that we all keep in mind that this stud (and yes, he is a stud) is 32 this year and is hitting his depreciation full speed. I truly believe his best value is with the Jays but will concede to everyone that I may be selling low on him...still don't see Rosario though ;-)

Not totally disagreeing with you but...well, disagreeing with you a little bit. Though, in our best moment, do we believe TOR will be 18 back 90 games in? Wonder what Vegas tells us about that? Also keep in mind, rentals change starting this year as the QO process no longer guarantees a 1st round draft sandwich pick (not relevant here with an arb year but rentals in general). That's millions of dollars difference (we'll get the exact numbers in June...though I'd imagine, with a little research/math, we could project what it would be). As I said above, I'm on the low end. Come up with a deal you like with NYM and STL and I'll let the others chime in on the value.

Edit: where are the Nats and is there a deal to be made? I see them in the bidding process also if they are chasing the Mets.
Hey man, to each his own. That's what makes this thread so great. I should add I'm not absolutely declaring the Mets pay Rosario, I just don't see a piece outside of him that entices the Jays enough to move JD. Even taking his decline into account, he should be worth 13-14 WAR over the next 2 seasons if he played them in full. Obviously he wouldn't be playing them with the acquiring team exclusively, but 10 WAR over 1.5 years and 2 playoff runs on top of that is no joke.

Like you said, STL/WAS and others could be in the mix. Don't see how the Mets are acquiring JD without putting their best chip on the table. I may be approaching this with homer glasses on, but that's my two cents from the perspective of a guy who knows the organization. This front office is already in the shadow of Anthopolous, who many fans hero worship for getting us back in the postseason after 25 years. Donaldson is their crown jewel, they won't trade him unless it's for a kings ransom, as it should be.

Mets could just pay Gsellman and Conforto plus something if needed and keep Rosario

I'll update Log with any approved trades tomorrow. I spent today drawing up a ridiculous presentation of my franchise for the franchise thread. I should probably consider playing the game some.

Just a note, I'll only add trades that actually list specific players. Too difficult to simply list two B prospects and a C as it's not always that blanket.

Wayyyy too much for Robertson. During the off season the White Sox were offering him up AND willing to pay some of his salary for Pedro Severino.

With those numbers take out Banda and it should work. No way they give him up in a deal for Robertson.

I don't know about performance with either of those guys, but I don't know why a Mets team trying to win a WS would prefer to trade pieces on the ML roster as opposed to a prospect that might not be a valuable contributor during their window with Donaldson. I guess they could swing Gsellman and Comforto, I'd just think the Rosario route is more logical.

Who do the Reds bring in for Zach Cosart? I could def see a 1B prospect. Who do I look at? Who would need a good defensive SS for a playoff run?

I had a (in my opinion) good trade offered to me by the Phillies and accepted it.

                They offered Jeremy Hellickson for

                Chris V Carter
                Mason Williams

Hellickson with an expiring contract, this sures up my rotation, allows Greg Bird to develop as my full-time 1B without looking over his shoulder and the Phillies get a power hitting 1B and a decent potential bench OF as Mason is a “C” prospect.

I thought it was a realistic and believable trade.

                Thoughts?

I am in the anti-Aroldis Chapman groups for non-baseballs reasons, and I know he has a no-trade clause, but let's say I want to trade him this season, what does his value look like now that he's making the big bucks?

I see what you're saying. I was looking at it where Conforto is riding the bench like in real life and a game world where Thor, deGrom, Harvey, Wheeler, Matz and Lugo are healthy. That way Gsellman is expendable and he can keep Rosario

Not a trade, but in FA, what team is the best fit for Harvey? 30 team control. Just deciding where he should go. Not bringing him back to mets

Dont have the numbers, bur he was having a bad year before getting injured again. With that said, im thinking he would sign a 1-2 year deal in a smaller market, stay healthy and put up a good year or two before cashing in again in FA. Thinking maybe Minnesota, Angels, Oakland... Thoughts?

Nah, you can set up two different profiles. One for your team in which you can decide what you want to the game to handle automatically and what you want to handle manually. Then you set up a different profile for the other teams in which everything is set to auto. If a really dumb trade comes in, you just go in and reserve it by making the two teams trade the players back to one another. It also sets it up where you can make some deals for other teams at the deadline if you'd like. For example, I moved Dozier to the Mets, Odorizzi to the Astros, Quintana to the Cubs and Casilla to the Nationals in my Franchise. It makes it exciting for your managed team to have to face another team who is going all out or bringing in quality prospects that may compete with you in two-three years. There is a really good video on how to set it up in 30 Team Control thread. It only takes a few minutes to setup.

In a crazy turn of events, Jared Weaver is having an amazing season for my Padres. 10-3, 78 Ks 34 BBs, 1.08 WHIP and leading the league with a 2.01 ERA. I know he has very little value but with the season he's having, can I get anything for him?

I'd also like to move Ryan Buchter. He's following a great year last year with a 1.90 ERA and 67 K's in 42.2 innings. He also has a 1.03 WHIP. He has plenty of team control left.

Among teams in contention that could use either player are the Red Sox who are chasing the orioles by 4 games. Yankees are chasing 7. Tigers have a 2 game lead over the Indians. The entire AL West is within a few games of each other with the Astros currently leading. Mets are behind the Nats by 5.5 games and Cards are back 4 from the Cubs.

                              Gotcha.

I think the OP was the Jays trying to trade JD, so I've been pushing for him going for Rosario. If he preferred Gsellman + Conforto than he could go that route as well.

So there ya go OP. Some of us think Rosario ++, others Conforto ++, it's really up to you, how those players are performing, etc, but you're not really ripping them off either way.

He still holds a ton of value to a team that needs a top closer (and Chapman is one of the 3 best in the league IMO) making a huge push to win the entire thing. Just be prepared to shell out for Bentances in the off-season!!

I still think you can fetch at least two 'A' prospects for this guy. Or a 28-30 old everyday "B" player and one "A" or 2 "B" prospects.

Plenty of deal can be made for Chapman for the right price and right situation.

Post some trade idea's and we can analyze it! I would wait till near the All-Star break and you will have a good pulse on a potential landing spot for Ardolis.

And this is exactly why I love 30 team control. You can make deals that are fair and make your league alive!!!
