And, just wanna be 100% certain on this one because I really haven't seen a definitive answer on this. The direction I'm hitting has to do with where I want the ball to go regardless of where it's pitched right? If I want to hit a fly ball but the ball is down I still press up on the direction and not down because of the location of the ball right?
I'm pretty sure this is all done pre-pitch, basically you're "aiming" your at-bat to go in the direction you've selected. So if you've got a lefty who pulls the ball a ton and the shift is on, you'd try to "push" the ball to the opposite field.

At least that's how I see it, I could be wrong of course.

Directional hitting is why I stopped playing online last year, it has no place in online ranked games. Its essentially just like playing with timing, its a joke. Its all anyone uses, that and the super zoomed in camera so your tv is just the strike zone.

What happens if I don't need a specific direction and I just don't press any? Will it just go up the middle?

It's my understanding that if you don't use the direction at that point it becomes timing and the placement of the PCI is based off of the batters attributes. If I understood what I had read earlier.

Just wanna bump this, there is no way this way of hitting should be allowed online. Timing isnt, so why is this?
