What is with the minor league pitchers?

I'm trying to play RTTS and some of the AA pitchers are so ridiculous that it is killing my enjoyment. For an example, I'm currently going against the Mobile Baybears and their starter named Karnitz throws 100mph 4SFB.....and an 82mph CH!? Is there anyway to get realistic abilities for pitchers at this level?

Obviously some minor league pitchers have these abilities, or do you think they magically appear when they get called up?

Really? You believe there are minor league SPs that throw consistently at 100mph with a changeup 18% slower than their fastball? A question, how many MLB starters can you name that do that nevermind Double A?

If you really think there are double A pitchers who throw a 100 mph fastball and an 82 mph change, I've got a bridge to sell you.

The closest real life comparison I can think of is Michael Kopech. Should be in AA this year, Fastball gets over 100mph but Changeup is closer to high 80's-90mph.

Off the top of my head Michael Kopech consistently hits 100 on fast ball and his changeup is mid to high 80's but throws a slider in the low to mid 80's so its not really all that unrealistic, there are guys out there that throw hard especially as teams have been pushing for that and can get their secondary pitches in the mid to low 80s..

              so where's that bridge guy

What are his control numbers? Does he consistently throw strikes or does he have those numbers and walk 5 guys in 5 innings?

I don't remember his control numbers(I I will look them up later) but when my batter was facing him (RTTS) he was painting the black with those two filthy pitches.

Re: What is with the minor league pitchers?

Playing RTTS last night I ran into a couple AA pitchers that owned me. I was rather surprised because usually they have awful control or throw meatballs that get crushed. I had guys painting the corners, throwing high heat just inside the zone that I couldnt catch up with and some ridiculous changeups. It was frustrating but kind of refreshing. Its unrealistic to get drafted in the 3rd round, start in AA and be in the Bigs by the All-Star break. I play on dynamic so its not like I am raking on rookie.

You guys are over reaching with Kopech in your example. The only true pitch fx numbers on the guy are a 98mph FSB, 87mph slider, and a 91mph CHG. That's just a 7.6 % speed difference between his fastball and change up. That's still good but no where near the 18% I faced today.

Don't confuse him attempting to throw 107-110mph in training to what he actually does in game.

I've never once thought that the AA pitchers were "OP". Pitch recognition...it helps.

huh? Kopech does throw 100 in game (I believe he hit as high as 105 if I'm not mistaken).

His "team" gun got him at 105 but scouts have only clocked him at 100-101. Plus his 110mph pitch was with a running start. Pitch FX clocked him tops at 98 through 270 something pitches

You're literally the only one bringing up the 110 mph pitch. Yes, we know. It was a velocity drill.
