Re: Auto base running fixed?
I don't have an answer for you but as someone who has been gaming since the Pong days and has owned every major system and sports game, I still cannot get the hang of base running control in The Show. I just find it horribly user unfriendly and I give it a fresh shot every year.

Re: Auto base running fixed?
I've always liked to control the baserunners in all the baseball games I've played but I think I will try auto this year. I do notice that when you press L1 to advance all runners it lags sometimes and you have to do a double click on the button.
Also, I find myself looking at the baserunning diamond rather than the actual play or where the ball is. I didnt care before but now since the graphics and gameplay is so beautiful, I'd like to see the ball and action rather then the diamond display.
I'll test it out tomorrow and see if there are any glitches with auto base running.Comment

If you use auto base running you can still override it with the advance all/retreat all buttons. You just can't control individual runners.

You mean serious bugs? Last year we had runners refusing to leave first after the batter gets a hit, runners on second or third making suicide runs for home. Surely they've had time to fix such game-wrecking bugs.

Re: Auto base running fixed?
I can confirm that auto baserunning still has the dumb suicide second to home runs, specifically when a ball is hit into the right field and the cpu throws to a cutoff man. I have already seen multiple times where using ABR the runner will try to go home even if the cutoff man gets the ball at the same time he makes it to 3rd. I just manually override and send him back, but that completely defeats the purpose of ABR.
I just can't believe stuff like this is still in the game. This has been a problem literally since this game was coming out on the PS2...Lou Holtz on College Gameday about Ohio State:

Re: Auto base running fixed?
I need help and any suggestions would be appreciated. I have been using Auto BR for a few years and have decided to give manual BR a try. My problem is that I cannot tell if the fly ball is going to be caught quick enough and then decide what to do. Ran myself into a few double plays.
What tips do you guys use? Change the camera angles? The only part of the game that disappoints me. Any tips?Comment

Nope..still there. Frustrating because otherwise gameplay is great. Just takes away from experience.Comment
