    Re: Too many HR's?

Played two Spring Training games vs the Marlins. We have hit a total of 2 homeruns in the two games. Neither homerun surpassed the 400ft mark.

Game 1 I lost 12-4 with a 2 run homer for the Marlins

Game 2 I lost 5-1 with a solo homer by me.

This is on default HOF for both pitching and hitting.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

      Re: Too many HR's?

I've also experienced way too many Home Runs on default sliders. Veteran Hitting Difficulty.

I hit 3 Home Runs with Brett Gardner in 1 Game. This should not be happening on any Hitting Difficulty setting.
Brett Gardner has a Rhp Power of 51 and I've hit the most Home Runs with him which makes no sense.

The most Team Home Runs I've hit in a game so far has been 6. (With the Yankees)

Then I tried starting a season and lowering the Power Slider down by 4 clicks. I've played 11 games so far and I have an average of 0.8 Home Runs Per Game with this slider setting.

But I've noticed that If you lower Power you can't seem to score any runs because most runs are coming from Home Runs.
Lowering The Power slider will also decrease Doubles.

Also, we shouldn't be seeing guys with 50 power hitting Home runs at such big distances. All the Home runs i've hit with Brett Gardner have been no doubters, which shouldn't be the case. Guys with 50 power should have Home runs that barely go over the wall.

I remember Mvp Baseball 2005 did this really well. Guys like Derek Jeter and Ichiro used to barely hit Home runs and when they did hit them they were barely over the wall.

Another thing MVP baseball 2005 did really well was... the speed of ground balls for Power hitters. I remember every time i used to go to the plate with Gary Sheffield I would hit some lazer grounders which gave me that sense of feeling that Gary was a Power beast of a hitter.

I wouldn't make any big decisions on sliders or saying "something is broken" based off of a small sample size of games, especially one game where you tee'd off on a guy.

Go 20-25 games, then if you think HRs are happening too often adjust the power slider down a notch or two.

Stan Musial hit 5 home runs in a day. It was a doubleheader, not one game.

At this point, i can only hope this is an oversight by dev team and not something they've done on purpose. Every player drops bomb, every player has a huge PCI. What's the point on quirks if everyone it's nearly the same at bats ?
The game has some serious improvement in all departs but this is a huge problem which broke the good balance of previous editions.

im not hitting a lot of homers but then again I'm on dynamic difficult. so I suck. so far I'm only scoring like 2 or 3 runs per game.

                Re: Too many HR's?

3 games in to the season with custom Red Sox team (all created players):

16 home runs hit, 7 surrendered (vs. Pirates)

Wouldn't mind that if the entire lineup of created players had 99 power, but not one is rated over 80. One dude already has 5 and his power is 58 R/ 67 L. Two others hit 2 apiece and neither is over a 50.

Seems like any pitch not hitting the very corners of the zone that I get "Good" timing on is crushed out of the park (mammoth shots) or hitting the fence.

Hope a patch fixes this. Everything else about this game seems stellar so far.

Sort of like how last year there were an absurd amount of no-hitters thrown..People, including myself, who never had a no-hitter, were getting them..

you might want to check where the pitch is in the zone because i gave up 3 homerun in 1 inning i look at pitch location on each one i found out they was in the middle of the plate i going to keep a eye out see that different

I've been playing a lot of Head-to-head DD and it seems like the only way anyone scores is with a homerun. Seems to be overpowered.

Sample size is important but I'm hitting a lot of HR's and I bat on Legend.

                          Re: Too many HR's?

Waaaaaaay to many HRs. First game I played I hit 3 HRs with seager, he had 6 RBIs and I won 7-6. The other run I scored on a solo HR. Out of the 10 games I've played I think I've scored 1 run that was not via a HR...

Not only are there a ton of HRs, but they are blasted! Usually 450+ ft... Pretty unrealistic.

There are also a ton of foul balls that are crushed and would be 450+ HRs if they were fair. Usually foul balls that are well foul are chip shots, not 450ft blasts.

And agreed on the HR celebration camera... They need to add an option to turn it off. It's the worst camera view in the game and immediately takes away the excitement of a HR. At least give us the option to turn it off like in the old show games.... Please!

Looks to me like the Show is catering to that casual crowd that wants lots of scoring and massive bombs flying out of stadiums.

                            Disappointing.

Just played another Diamond Dynasty game after work on All Star and won 19-2. I hit 10 home runs, 3 doubles, 2 triples and few singles. I have total arcade mode going on and yeah I agree that this game has never felt arcadey except for this year. The ball seems to just float away into the stands constantly. 10 homers is unreal. Can't wait for some realistic sliders to enter. The game is absolutely amazing except for the HDR bug and all these homers. If they fix this with a patch they will have created the best baseball game ever made by a landslide.

I actually got mad I couldn't get a base hit and went back to back to back twice and was like what is going on. It's insane and I really really hope something will change. It's like I am playing a different game than baseball. Really hard to implement strategies and get fun stuff going on on the basepaths. Redonk. I want to turn cpu and human power way down but then I would just get tons of pop flys I imagine. Anyone try this?
