Can you save a game, in game?

Two part question. Can you save a franchise game, as in stopping and powering down the console, say in the 5th inning and picking up there when you power on?
    If so, how?
If so can you do it with exhibition?

    Sorry for the confusion, thanks.

You can certainly save a franchise game in-game and resume immediately by putting the console on rest mode. You may want to check your console settings though beforehand and enable certain rest mode features that I can't remember off the top of my head.

In franchise, definitely yes. When you choose "exit", it will be obvious how to save the game. I can't say for exhibition.

Yes you can as Juzbee mentioned. If you are using player lock it fast forwards to your next turn and not where you left off. In MLB 15 it worked great with player lock picking up exactly where you left off. I am going to try the PS4 rest option and see what happens with Player Lock!

            TexasFan2005,

Good tip! I wish I had thought of this last year when using player lock not a full hard save but at least its a option. Now I just need to find a way to get player lock to start from the 1st inning and I will be back in business!

That's the method I used most of 2016 until an unfortunate thing happened: power outage. Wish I had saved.
