Why is the PCI Massive for Everyone ?

I've mainly been playing DD offline and a few offline Franchise games mixed in. I use Directional hitting but the PCI is the same for every hitter. It's huge covering the entire strike zone as well as outside it too. Is this the same for zone hitters? I can't imagine this is intended as it renders the vision stat somewhat useless no?

Don't want to hi-jack, but didn't want to make a new thread. Does the PCI even matter in online play? I was playing a guy who was making solid contact on most my pitches, but the PCI was nowhere near the ball marker.

but yes, I also feel the PCI is pretty massive.

I dont believe online visually shows where your opponents pci is. And if it does it isn't accurate.

At least that was the case last year.

This year All Star hitting is pretty much like Veteran last year. At this point, i think devs did it on purpose just for "helping" DD players. I've no data, but checking youtube videos and listening to users around the web, it seems like every game turns into a slugfest.

The pci for allstar has been massive for years. Not sure why everyone is just now bringing it up.

Then I must REALLY suck at hitting, because my DD games are constantly going into extra innings and ending with a combined 3 runs or fewer.

I don't recall average to mediocre hitters with low vision having PCI this big even last year.

I do, but my memory could always be off. I've never liked how big the pci is considering that you can hit the ball without the pci touching it.

Do you think they would change the pci size in a patch?

Quirks are probably what's giving this impression - they can enlarge the PCI beyond what it would normally be for a hitter.

I mean, if it bothers you that much you can turn the display off (if it's distracting) or play a difficulty higher (if it's too easy). I feel like people place too much importance on PCI size just like some place too much on OVR - they're both only vague estimations of a player's ability. The numbers are what matter.

Ya I didnt think about Quirks. Good point. I suppose I'm going to have to try hitting on HOF which terrifies me

It's pretty much like All Star in MLB 16 so you'll be fine.
