    Team selection in Franchise mode

So this is probably going to get largely ignored and I understand that but I was hoping someone could give me a good team to play as in a franchise mode?

I'm ok at the game but my timing when batting is not the best. What I'm looking for is a good team that will have fun players to play with and will keep my interest for a full season and beyond.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To go into more or what your looking for are you looking for already made well rounded team that can take you to the postseason first year or a team that has really good upcoming prospects that once they develop can turn your team into a winning one.

Hmmm, to be honest I'm open to either route if you have a suggestion for both?

Well like Caulfield said the best teams are the
          Cubs, Mets, Indians
to name a few so if you want a pretty easy main priority is winning a WS those are the teams to do it with now for rebuilding teams they require more work as you have prospects in the minors that have to grow, some teams to consider if you wanna go down that route are
          Oakland
          Brewers
          Phillies
          Reds
          Yankees
          Braves
          And probably others

If you're open to a lot of trades, you could always pick a team with a good stadium and uniforms and basically "create" your own team.

Any suggestions? I suppose the pirates and the giants would be the two most obvious?

You could always move your timing slider to the right a click to help you on your timing. As far as team to play, I would suggest a good contact team.

                  Personal preference really.
I do like the Pirates and Giants stadiums a lot, I'd prefer the Pirates unis over the Giants. They both have good teams at the moments too.

I always use the Red Sox(favorite team) and Astros(sometimes Braves) for my second franchise/season mode. I love Fenway Park and Minute Maid Park, very fun to play in with all the different dimensions and cutouts.

I usually use my Sox, but this year will be especially fun with the rebuild. I'm glad its fun in-game because it'll make me hate my life around July...

Ok so I might go with the Mariners but I was wondering if anyone could suggest some potential roster moves to make with them?

I played an Orioles season last year and gallardo was a headache. My biased opinion says dump him
Dyson only has a 65 durability and Cruz will probably see most of his time at DH so I might look for another OF'er. The defense leaves something to be desired though their hitting should offset that. still, I'd feel better with another arm in the bullpen.
their speed is in the same boat as their defense so look to play station-to-station baseball.
the M's dont need a lot of tweaking, the biggest problem will be playing in a tight division. heck even the Angels could spoil things in seattle.Only the A's will be pushovers IMO

Dont know what to tell you on what team would be best for you. Personally I always use my favorite team.

I can tell you if hitting is a struggle for you, you might try dynamic. It took me a while to give in, but due to my health and meds they have me on, it was give up on playing MLBTS and go the text sim route with OOTP baseball, or give dynamic a try.
I know its hard for most of us guys to give in and play a game on a lower level, when we played the game IRL, and had always been able to play games on highest difficulty settings, but eventually we all wear down, some of us sooner than later unfortunately, lol.

Give it a try, its nicely done my the devs. Its not so easy that you feel like your not playing a simulation game, like back many years ago, when sports video baseball games, you could mash the ball, and pitch no hitters against the AI at will.

                          Favorite teams:

                          NBA- Pacers
                          NFL- Dolphins & Colts

Sorry if I hijack that thread, but I'm looking for a team also. I'm the typical guy who just watches the playoffs, so I don't really keep track of Free Agency. What I am looking for exactly is a team that can make the playoffs in year 1, but isn't a favorit for WS.
I was looking at the Reds, but it seems like they are really bad this year. Second thought was the Pirates, I guess they are more fitting for what I am looking for.

Any other ideas? I don't really have a favorite team and don't really hate anyone besides the Giants, so there should be some options I hope.

Couple options could be Astros, Pirates could be, Baltimore, Toronto, Dodgers, really it's hard to judge a team in The Show because it could also depend on difficulty or how well you are as a player but those are teams that are there just not quite all the way there.
