Playing Vs. CPU, does it seem like batters are swinging through pudding?

I swear, like, one out of every three swings, it seems as if the computer is swinging under water? It's just the animation so far as I can tell, but it looks really funky when the batter takes an awkwardly slow swing and the ball jumps off the bat for a home run.

    Is anyone else seeing this?

Playing some Conquest before starting my Franchise while waiting for patches, fwiw.

I think the way swing animation syncs with actual timing has changed quite a bit, and I do feel swing animation this year responds to (user) input much slower than in previous years.

My guess is that with the new "checkswing" variety (which I think is a great new feature), the game needs more timing "branch" points to decide which appropriate swing animation to show, and obviously with check swing the game doesn't know of the intention to check till user release the button, at which point the swing has already started.

I think that's part of the reason why sometimes swing animation looks "glitchy" this year.

Wow. That's a really well-reasoned and reasonable response. Thanks! I was wondering if it had something to do with the new "effort" animations they put in, but your idea sounds much more plausible.

FWIW, I'm only really seeing these swings during the CPU's ABs. During my own, I'm either not noticing them because I'm focusing on the pitch, or they aren't happening.
