    Check swings need some reworking

I've had numerous instances of almost a full swing check swing being called a ball. Luckily they've happened when I've been hitting but it's still bad. Here's a picture I took. Sorry it's off my phone.

I've had the opposite where I don't even get close to the plate and they call it a strike. Obviously it shouldn't be perfect but sometimes I go into replay and see the bat a foot away from crossing the plate.

      Lmao!

I have seen a similar thing happen. Only once though, out of roughly 100 check swings.

I have experienced this a lot as well mostly with the contact swing button it looks like it is going to hold the swing up but then goes through for a strike with a jerky type animation playing on regular PS4.

I agree with this, however the bat crossing the plate isn't the determining factor. The best way to tell is if a player breaks his wrists.

To be honest, I would rather them leave it alone. I will take some wonkiness once in a while. At least this year they occasionally call a strike on a check swing, where last year I never got a strike call.

I played a game of BR yesterday and the person I was playing would check swing at anything low in the zone. Not once did I get a check swing called as a strike, the only strike calls I got were when they finished in the strike zone. At least a couple of them he went around on. He did strike out a good bit so not a great strategy IMO.

Sorry I was exclusively talking about offline, I should have been more clear. I have never and will never play anything in this game online.

In my experience, it's always based on how hard i push the button or how quick i release it, so i can always tell if a check swing is gonna be called a strike.

I never go into replay and actually see how far the bat went though.

Yeah, DualShock3-like, pressure sensitive face buttons would solve all of these issues. Definitely something I wish would have carried over to the DS4.

I agree with Bullit though, they actually work both ways again (offline). It's really a graphical misinterpretation in replays.

                    Off-topic: that's a great looking picture!
