Training players - difference between Auto/non auto sessions

I went into the training screen and for each type of training there's seem to be a "auto" option: example - "auto hitting session" and just "hitting session" - what is the difference?

FYI - I'm playing in franchise mode with 30 team control.

Auto means that the computer is training this player automatically. If you choose any other setting you will have to monitor/change the training of that player until you put it back on Auto.

If you do that you have to monitor everybody on at least a weekly basis. It wont change training on its own if it is not on Auto. So you need to change it up yourself so players don't get stagnant or increase other skills.
