Critical situations ?

I thought there was an option to play only critical situations in franchise mode ? I can't see the option.

You can choose when you start the franchise, or there will be an option hovering over the calendar tab. Press square to activate it. Then, next time you sim, the game will stop and load critical situations.

So is it possible to play some full games and then instead of simming do critical situations in others ? How does it work is it just one situation per game or a few like when you play rtts ?

Only certain late game situations, you may sim several games in a row without hitting a "critical situation". Might help if you go watch the SDS Twitch stream where they covered Franchise Mode. They go into it in detail.
